Quadrant 2: ring of death

Ok it seems that I have a heating problem on my 360 with the ring of death, I know that if it's the second quadrant that doesn't light up, they say it's simply an over heating problem...but my system has been off since last night. I already took off the x clamps, used washers/screws, reapplied arctic silver 5, and also used the heat gun... I'm running out of options and it seems to still to not even atempt to go green and overheat when it's been off for almost a day..any suggesttions?

check your SMD caps and make sure that you have the motherboard screwed into the ground shield properly as you can get error 0020 (2 Red Lights) if the mobo is not grounded properly

If you are only getting 2 red rings on start + fast fan then most likely you damaged the motherboard while removing the x-clamps.

2 red lights also means overheating.
check your cooler contacts (cpu+gpu)
