Bronzof...Either learn english, or type out your message in your native language, and put it thru an online translator, it will do a better job that you.

online translators don't work that well, and honestly, that is probably what he did. regardless, he is trying to contribute, so cut him some slack.

okay what he means is that hackers used benq firmware to operate on that samsung drive so how about
modifying the same firmware to work on liteon ? maybe geremia or C4EVA will give as an answer

No, you don't use BenQ firmware on Samsung drives.

yeah lowering the default reading speed from 12x to let's say 5x, would really let GTA4 (or any of your games) benefit from way less popups and loading times.

i was just telling my computer stupid brother how to install a dvd rom over the webcam and i saw that the drive was a lite-on dh16d3s and seem very simialar to the 360 version,i just thought i mention it,dont know if it will help coz the firmware would be different, but maybe the secuirtys the same?

also a few months ago while flashing a benq i had problems which was a first,i notice the pcb wasnt the normal benq!i didn't manage to flash it with dosflash or anything.got inquiry.bin and dvdkey using the lite-on method, tried to spoof flash 3 sammys but they brick and i had to hotswap recover them, hitachi 46dh worked perfect and so did a benq 6038. but the point is i swear the pcb is the same as the lite-ons,has anyone else found this or had this problem with benq?

this is Firmware for driver DH-16D2S and DH-16D3S  which may have some similarities with drive
DG-16D2S since hackers could flash drives like liteon DROM6316
With benq firmware why they couldn't do it with liteon DG-16D2S  Huh?

liteon DH-16D3S firmware : http://soft.fengniao.com/detail.php?softid=323883

Wow, I really hope you guys can get the full dump. Really looking forward to it and waiting! All the new 360's have Lite-On's no exception. I, unfortunately, don't know anything about how to do this stuff dump the firmware or w/e but I help like donate or w/e I just really want a hack for this. I am sick today Cry
Also any progress made?!? I searched everywhere to see something like a progress log.

Ya that is a Philips drive using BenQ firmware, it is what I use. There is no samsung involvement.

Nope, it IS 2 die. The spi chip is "stacked" on top.

Note the big square is only part of the package.
The  next smaller square is the mtk, notice how all the wires go right around the edge of it.
The spi flash is is on top of that, it's invisible, cause of its similarity in composition to the mtk. The wiring to it can be made out, cause the gold leads are denser metal.

Those pictures are amazing you must of used some strong stuff to melt the plastic, the spi can clearly be seen I woner how you can identify its connections, does it simply wire to the controllers spi port pins and power or direct to the controllers die? cant tell myself. Am guessing the spi could still have a lock on it to preventing dumping though. Think you'll need something finer than kynar wire to connect to it!

Indeed, I didn't notice.
Guess Geremia enjoyed his visit to the dentist Wink

I've seen some attempt at using a external programmer, which most probably fails, as it wont recognize the flash.
I'm wondering, have anyone tried to interface to the SPI with a microcontroller, and attempted to brute force single byte opcodes (00-FF) and gotten a response?

Great the writing, erasing flash secret is revealed now, but how about reading
The flash Huh maybe using benq fw with other liteon pc drives like DH-16D2S and
DH-16D3S is the solution

but Wait a minute man , does this mean that we have to melt
Chipset in-order to reach the spi flash in future flashing operations for liteon

No dude, they're just trying to find a way to dump the Liteon firmware completely. Once they have that, they can start working on an iXtreme firmware, generic for the Liteons.
All we have to do then is insert the key (maybe spoof if necessary) into it, erase and flash the Liteon with this new firmware.

Just relax and wait for news instead of sitting in the back of the car and screaming "Are we there yet ?" every 5 minutes Smiley

ok dude they maybe up to something but they still not using your nose to melt the chipset or your brain to flash the spi flash so don’t smart on me this way dude.
