The 1319 and the 1309 have the same pinout. It is a step in the right direction, it can't hurt, it isn't going to hack the drive for us, but it is useful information.
Germania, after erasing a LiteOn drives flash, will the controller chip boot from an external flash?
And you said you could read a couple of KBs of data with some tricks...can you only read a certain KB or 2, or can you read a couple at a time? If you can read in theory all of the flash just a KB at a time...I think just get an hour or so and get dumping....Although I think you have thought of this and you know what you are doing so I will shut up.
You not need external flash, because LiteOn can be flashed.

yeah lowering the default reading speed from 12x to let's say 5x, would really let GTA4 (or any of your games) benefit from way less popups and loading times.

I am assuming no one has tried soldering the SPI flash pins on the 1319 to a Willem Programmer and attempted to screw around up that avenue?

This thread and another at http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=648236&st=270 are pretty closely related. On that one it has instructions on how to connect some solder points and a serial interface to the drive. I can't believe that all we're waiting for to be able to flash the drive at home is a dump of the firmware! =D

Ooooh. If that's dumpable/compatable that might speed things up significantly. *crosses fingers*

Ya if that guy is willing to cough up the drive and ship it to a hacker like germania.

This is from the Xbox Scene guy.
Hi all, Sorry for the lack of information recently - I have been busy moving house. Just a quick update - I sold all of my old reading/flashing equipment a while ago and bought a laptop so I couldn't attempt a read myself. I have sent the drive off to podger to see if he can find anything from it. He has more tools and knowledge than me so hopefully he can find out something interesting from it.
Myself or podger will post an update on here as soon as there is any news.
Thanks!

you'll find these comments at page 8Posted by C4eva on IRC two hours ago : 1-<c4eva> the end is near for lite-on! 2-(I think he has already finished it. He told me yesterday morning to have it 90%. My best guess is that the fw to be used will be somewhat like the iXtreme for BENQs we have now. The major concern now may be the tool to read and inject the firmware on the Lite-On's MTK Controller. This may be where c4eva is focused now. Who is helping him with this?! Or is he still a one man army?) Guys we've been hearing statements like this for more than two months where is the incredible "c4eva" and what is he doing now, it seems that Microsoft ripped all the hackers including c4eva,geremia...etc like a bulldog

where is he, well he lives somewhere in my country (yeap past the kangaroos and koalas you here about... ) what is he doing, well probably relaxing (first day back from school holidays here) - if not...hes busy working on something my point is, as soon as he knows/has something...and it's perfected for release - he will release it. Until then just be patient and wait, as I have said before, you wouldn't want something half finished and not working properly would you ? Hopefully the guy from XS is telling the truth, podger gets the drive...is able to dump it in dosflash or something easy...and from there a hacked firmware for the lite on can be made, hopefully if possible, that is Though...(unless a special "unlock code" or other method of getting access to write to the fw chip without it being blank was discovered, or the method of firmware hacking being applied was "similar to a Hitachi") you would still need to use the RS232 to dump your key...and then insert that into a hacked firmware, erase your lite on and then flash your hacked firmware but it still saves you buying the new drive and being able to be detected (to a point) never then less I think this may be promising *crossed fingers* gigabite

Well... The Hitach v79 couldn't be softflashed for a year, untill a few months ago. Nobody knows what a guy like C4E is doing all the time, because otherwise everybody would try to get daily updates he was having deadlines and thats what he doesn't need. This guy does these things for hobby, not for work. Be happy if the Lite On hack arrives. If it doesn't whats the problem? You can't make backups but you have originals to play, right? BTW you haven't been hearing for 2 months that he is on 90% of doing things as far as I've seen stuff from IRC

BTW you haven't been hearing for 2 months that he is on 90% of doing things as far as I've seen stuff from IRC Well it seems that we are all noobs in the land of liteon ,in fact when you solve A puzzle like Benq,Hitachi 79 you usually learn more, the liteon will be hacked Someone will hack it but if some one left the battleground he should say it because it's not just a hobby see if you think in a deep way you'll find that hacking is not random it could be triggered by big companies, small companies or groups like Team Xecuter, maximus for competitive and financial purposes..... So if you search in google you'll find many comments made by C4EVA that confirms The liteon is dying but the result is really different. So I hope that C4EVA will stay the same great C4EVA . Though I'm confident that Geremia will do it.

some one says that he have a successfull dump of the BENQ VAD6038 (beta liteon drive) [here is the link again http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=662182&st=30&gopid=4354283&#entry4354283and here is what he said I just bought an Arcade that was dated 4-28-08 and it came with a Benq with your same FW. I had a bear of a time trying to read it until I decided to just keep the xbox powered up before turning the PC on. It read fine and flashed fine. Apparently the mobo wouldn't recognize the drive being plugged in unles it was powerd up from the beginning.

FYI: #fw net <c4eva> lite-on work is continuing. full erase/write access to entire fw flash is complete via software! ixtreme 1.5 is coming! will include adapt_ss, will auto adapt ss according to drive string (safe spoofing), amongst other things!
