In my opinion, the XB1 FW hack, was extremely easy to perform. The first backup I created, I had success of it booting. Now, I am very interested in performing the 360 FW hack, and it seems just as easy if not easier than the XB1 FW hack. I am just waiting to pick up a 360, before I can do this FW hack. Anyone agree about it being pretty easy? Also, which do you think is easier? Opinions please. Thanks.

Firstly I think I speak for everyone when I say this, if you do encounter any problems try to read the forums first because theres a 90% chance that other people have had the same problems and been given a solution somewhere, lol.

It's easy enough to do but I can't say whether it's easier than the original xbox because mine was already modded and I didnt see the point in going through all the hassle when it played backups fine the way it was.

I assume nobody has performed both hacks? Everyone seems a bit quiet.

The question is, did you actually *hack* the firmware or did you simply flash an already hacked firmware to your drive. The latter isn't 'hacking' at all.

hacking:
Unauthorized use, or attempts to circumvent or bypass the security mechanisms of an information system or network.

reversing:
Reverse engineering (RE) is the process of taking something (a device, an electrical component, a software program, etc.) apart and analyzing its workings in detail, usually with the intention to construct a new device or program that does the same thing without actually copying anything from the original. The verb form is to reverse-engineer, spelled with a hyphen.

When you have fully reverse engineered a piece of software then you completely understand how it works. That doesn't mean you also 'hacked' that piece of software. Does installing a hacked drive makes you a hacker? No ofcourse not, that's just plain silly. You didn't circumvent any security mechanisms, the original author of the firmware hack did.

Sorry guys, but i have to agree with elite on this one.  As much as it makes me cringe to say that someone with absolutely no hacking skills can be a hacker...its just the definition of which that makes it true.  Say you handwrote the exact details to break into the Building XXX to steal top secret documents.  Then you set a monkey in front of the computer to break into their computers using code you wrote down character by character. Are you going to say that this monkey isnt hacking into Building XXX?  If he is hacking in, wouldn't that make him a hacker?

Would "I" proclaim the monkey to be a hacker?  No.  In this instance, would the monkey actually be a hacker in the true sense?  Yes.
