360 won't boot after Xclamp replacement
«

I did the X-Clamp replacement to my 3rod 360 and now it won't boot up at all. I noticed after like 10 repeated attempts to boot it the power brick went from yellow to red. I reset the power brick now and it just stays yellow and doesn't boot the 360.
Any suggestions ?

It's possible you tightened it to much - this will cause your error...and it's possible you might need a re-flow

definately not too tight on gpu/cpu. I don't happen to have a heat gun but i seen a few results claiming to use a hair dryer ? ... is that possible ?

hair dryer is useless. it can never get even close to the needed temperature. your issue sounds like you may have crushed something or caused a short circuit (i.e. heatsink to one of the surrounding components along its edge). another problem now may be that because you kept trying to power it on, something may have burned out either on the MB or in the PSU.

More details please...
Do you ever get a power light on the 360? If so Does the ring of light "twirl" like usual or do you get an error code?

I'd try another power supply. It's either that or you damaged something on the board in doing xclamp replacement. Try to power it on with no heatsinks at all. It should still power on, though quickly overheat.

I think thats how it first broke. I took both heat sinks off and removed the old thermal paste and before putting the new thermal paste on and the heat sinks I wanted to make sure that i didn't scratch any traces on the mb, so I tried to turn on the 360 and thats when the power brick turned red.
This xbox 360 had e74 before i did all of this and it had dry thermal paste so it would overheat fast and shut off if that helps any
