I was looking at your great post for doing an internal HDD mod and I just have one quick question if you have a minute.

You only soldered 4 wires from the SATA cable and snipped off the others, are the others not used and is it that simple or did you have to something on drive end to make it work?

The three wires that I cut off were all ground wires.  I should have left at least one, but I think I only had four holes that would fit the wires (that fifth hole was probably smaller).  It is bad to connect any device without a ground, but the ground on the power connector of the HD is directly connected to the ground on the SATA side.  This way the HD still has a ground connection, as long as you're powering it from the xbox and not something else.

Either way, I've had mine running this way for months with no problems.

I just wanted to add here that I had to remove my internal HD mod to fit the Cygnos360 v2 in.  The holes I used to pass the wires were in the way of the Cygnos.  So choose a different spot if you want to use that.

Not needed, XBR will accept any HDD

Btw...
I uploaded here ---> http://www.xboxhacker.org/index.php?topic=13165.0 the pinout for all the related connectors for SATA HDDs, and some photos of a cable i did
Use this info for your internal HDD mods, i think that all the info needed is there
And if you do a custom cable, i think is a good idea to take some photos and upload to this thread, this way we can use this thread for all this mods (that in fact... are the same, there are little differences, but we are using the same pinout)

installed the sata connections and sata power, already formatted my 3.5 seagate sata 200GBon the console. what i wanna do now is copy my files on my old hdd to the new hdd.

i get the 5v and 12v directly on the power pins. and cut the end of my sata cable and solder them directly on the board. it works perfect.

now i wanna see if all partitions are not absent on the 3.5 200gb

First, remove the mod, then see if it works.  You may have shorted something.
If it works after, try again more carefully. If it does not, then we troubleshoot what was damaged.

Not really related, but I thought I'd throw this out there while I'm posting: I noticed that on my mod, while I had those cables soldered in, a hard drive connected to the external connector would not work, even when nothing was connected to the cables inside.  When I removed the cables to install the cygnos, plugging into the external connector worked fine.
