Hi guys, I want to make an "adapter" wich powers the 360 drive just to be able to dump/re-flash the firmware - now I did my re-search and I know that 12v goes to pins 1 and 3 (on the DVD drive) and 5v goes to pin 5 (on the DVD drive) and GND goes to 0,2,4 & 6 (on the DVD drive) - I don't need 3.3v because I don't need to eject or spin the tray etc...all I need to do is dump/re-flash the firmware - now the thing is it will only be used on Samsung's so it will need a "vcc switch" so to speak - what I want to know is that to make a "vcc switch" would it be ok if I just cut power to 12v or do I need to just cut power to 5v (because the SST chip uses 5v) or do I need to cut power to both 5v and 12v..or GND.. / if someone could help i'd appreciate it,

thanks

why not get this http://www.diygadget.com/store/game-console-adapters/xbox-360-dvd-power-adapter-version-2/prod_22.html .

cheap and does the job. you could always reverse engy it.

just seems like a lot of trouble to do whats already done.

Why buy one, when you can buy two for twice the price.
