Does anyone happen to know if I can pay Microsoft to fix/replace/whatevertheydo my 360?  The warranty is voided with an X-Clamp replacement applied but I'm still getting consistent freezes on random games and I'm getting pretty pissed that some of my favorite games are now unplayable, while 2 or 3 of them play just fine.  I don't feel like calling in and talking to their automated voice thing, and then...well you get the point.  So, I'd be very thankful if someone could tell me if Microsoft offers a repair service (for a fee obviously) for non-warrantied Xbox 360s, and if so, how much would it cost?

Thanks in advance!

you can try to replace the x-clamps and send it in on warranty anyways.

Off-topic note, but you can get through the automated system very quickly by just saying "agent" when he first asks why  you are calling. He'll ask 2 or 3 more questions and send you directly to an agent.

I'd follow Arakon's advice and just try to send it in after replacing the xclamps (or even without replacing them if you no longer have them). Sometimes they'll just automatically send out a refurb after they receive your console at the center. If not, they'll send it back or offer to fix it for a fee.

Thanks for the good info everyone.  I saved my X-clamps just in case.  I probably should flash the firmware back to stock though hehe.  I probably won't try to do the warranty though, I don't want to get stuck with shipping charges.  $100 for repairs isn't so bad.  Do you know if they give a warranty on their repairs?
