My understanding is that there have been no reports of BenQ dive 360s being banned.  One thing I read a while back was that the BenQ drive can not detect the size of a DVD (IE when the request for the size of the dvd is sent to the drive, it returns an error).  This leads me to the possibility that Xbox live is requesting the size of the dvd and when it receives the wrong answer, it bans the box.  Since the BenQ can not answer the request it cant be banned.

I have 2 questions... has anyone seen any discussions along this line... and is there anyway to determine the size of the DVD once it is on the disc? (without the original image)

Some one sent me this post in an email, but i dont have access to the forum it came from.

"~ I think it's something to do with the 7.05GB releases. I have tried stealth checks with 7.05GB and 7.29GB image files in the new schtrom 360xtract v3.4. Every game i checked that was 7.05GB was missing "video layer 1 blank" and "video layer 1 on layer 1". Every game that was 7.29GB (splitvid), passed every stealth field and video layer 1 was present. Just a thought. I think M$ is doing basically the same kind of check. ~"

I saw your previous post and Im not sure but like I said before my brother and I haven't been banned and we both have 360's with BenQ's. Now I haven't seen anyone on here say that they have been banned with a benQ, but I have seen people saying I know someone who was banned with a BenQ. But no Hard Proof, if someone with a benQ has been banned please let us know.

Where is this database? c4e confirmed that the iXtreme is working, once again the bannings are because improper backups.

Or perhaps during this whole process of Microsoft getting ready to ban people they didn't take into acount for the BenQ drives since the firmware  wasn't released until just recently. I understand its the discs that are causing the problem, but like someone else said maybe there is some sort of check the BenQ drive can't perform since Microsoft wasn't ready for the firmware.

Is there any proof of this besides someone told me. I would be satisfied if one person stepped forward saying they had a benQ drive and it was banned, I have yet to see that.

Ask around, there have been reports of a few.  It's got nothing to do with the drive or the firmware.

I have been asking around, I have been to other forums too, and I cannot directly find anyone with a benq drive that has been banned. Only "someone told me they got banned"

I have seen a few reports of the benq which are banned the interesting one is that i have not yet seen the Hitachi 79 drive getting banned. I went through all the pages on one of the forums there was 2 benq drives in there that were banned but no 79s and there was only 1 hitachi 46 which may have something to do with alot of the old 360s are dead now!!!!

Blah, benqs have only recently been able to be flashed. How long ago do you think these logs were made?, Benqs will probably be in the next wave.

Well I have played a couple of the games with the kreon bug and didn't get banned, so did my brother. I have recently since then used my PRP and gotton a new xbox and check all my games now, so I guess I will never know.  Tongue
