hey guys i have a hitachi 0047dh drive which i just flashed using the textbook tutorial. according to the command prompt screen, i have successfully flashed 100%, shutdown system.. etc.
i then proceeded to connect the 360 to my tv and test out the backups(verbatim disk), i am getting "unreadable disk" for all the backups that i have. regular 360 disks plays fine including movie disks but the backups are unreadable.
this is my first time flashing my 360 and i believe i followed everything correctly, the drive was detected in windows therefore its mode b plus i flashed it using xtreme 1.2.
now my question is could the spindle of dvd+rs that i have are bad(they are verbatim made in india). should i try a different brand of dvd+rs? should i attempt to flash it again?
thanks!

yeah sorry for not being clear, it is dvd+r double layer disks that i am using.
the firmware is iXtreme1.2_Hitachi_Sense_Fixfw using textbook tutorial method for hitachi drives.
the orignals plays fine but not the backups.
could this be that my entire verbatim spindle of dvds are bad, re flash it, or purchase a pioneer 112d drive?

bad burn, bad dump, images without full security features.. all of those are possible.

ok i decided to try a different firmware, i restored it and attempt to flash again via command window. here is the log

the one thing that i noticed is the "DeviceIOControl() failed 0 failed to execute flasher " which i got for both C4EVA_XTRM-HITACHI_v2_4_Stealth and iXtreme1.2_Hitachi_Sense_Fixfw. could that have anything to do with me not being able to play my backups?
both flash attemp "pass" according to the screen using both firmware and they both allowed me to play my originals and not the backups.
i decided to order the pioneer 112d hoping its my burner and not the media or flashing. any other ideas on what could be wrong? thanks!

ok i just got the pioneer dvr-112d installed on my computer and started burning some backups.
i decided to flash my hitachi 0047DH back to iXtreme1.2_Hitachi_Sense_Fixfw since that seems to be the latest firmware.
here is the log:

all backups were burned on verbatim (made in india). out of 4 backups that i burned, one seem to work everytime i insert the disk (Saint Rows). The other backups which are newer games(Halo 3 and 2x Smackdown 2008) does not work all the time.
I can somehow get it to play if i keep ejecting in and out(about 10x+). Sometimes it plays as soon i insert sometimes it doesn't. I would say about 70 % of the time it doesn't play when you insert it but Saint Rows backup works all the time.
Now my question is does this suggest bad media? should i just buy a different spindle of verbatim or another brand?
btw all backups was burned with imgburn(latest version, i also tried clonecd) at 4x(tried 2.4x as well). Stealth checks passes on all backups.

it could be bad disks, or a dying laser.
