Tutorial for upgrading Hitachi 32 using Maximus 4.5 ???

cant get it to work.. i think i miss a step somewhere

1. connect my Hitachi 32 to computer using connectivity kit v1.0 & VIA6421
2. power-on computer and check to se if in modeb (red light and 2 press for eject)
3. desolder TSOP, clean up
4. check in willem programmer Chip ID.. (OK)
5. dump to file
6. open 40.bin from any "FWPACK.RAR" in Maximus Firmware tool 4.5
7. paste key
8. Select Tools... Smart patcher
9. select iXtreme 1.2 0036-0059
10. select outputfile
11. generate file
12. open new file
14. select tools.. validate checksum (0000000 or something)
15. exit maximus

20. open file in willemprogramer
21. check ID
22. erase flash
24. program flash
25. check id
26. read flash save to file
27. compare file from maximus and file from willem with FC command

30. solder TSOP back
31. check connectiviti and for shorts using multimeter

35. connect to connectivitykit power on and try eject


i cant get it to eject or be detected in computer (havent tryed in xbox360 since i dont se the point)

I'd be glad to help, but I really don't understand what you're trying to do. Either it's something very advanced and I don't get what - or your list of steps contain about 20 too many.

The 0032CE firmware has no support for Key.. so the firmware has to be upgraded to a fimware that supports keys!
0036 - 0040 firmware should work with this hardware (JD5X PILOT 2005/04/04)
and since you cant software upgrade whole flash you have to resolder TSOP and flash in external flasher...
Im looking for a expert that can tell if im doing anything wrong...

for example do i need to encrypt the firmware before flashing in programer?

Yes you need to encrypt the firmware! dont ask me why but if you dont do it it wont work

desoldered the tsop again and dumped the firmware to check... yes its encrypted

there are no shorts and all pins have connection to the motherboard.. but still i cant eject using my Xecuter conectivity Kit ... it worked with the 0032CE Firmware

it's pretty simple no need to be an expert just read enough and u will get it

yes.. its just to read.. but if people says things that is not true.. its hard to know whats right.. so if people only answers if they are complety sure its easy.. but many people write stuff that they think they now but does not...

fact: you have to use 0040 firmware on a 0032CE drive if you wanna use it for booting games.

Hi mate, you may have a hardware problem, rather than a sofware (firmware), check all Tsop connections, try and get the drive to original state with original firmware, I think you have a hardware problem with your drive, resolder the Tsop in another drive just to make sure the code is OK.

If thats not good get a professional engineer to check the Tsop for you.
