Hey all. so this is what happened
i got myself the 79 passkey took apart the hitiatchi 0079 drive and looked at soldering ,and was like hell no i cant do that ( i never soldered anything in my life)
so i gave it to my friends dad who is an electrical engineer so i thought he be the best for the job. now when he cleaned up Epoxy he kinda ruined those tracks like little bit, but they are still there and staff they kinda got some scratches, now that should not be a problem right? i mean we have not installed it yet cause his solder iron was not small enough that he had so he is going to get a smaller one yet, and we did not have the little solder remover wire thing (anyone knows what thats called). But yeah so i was just wondering what that tool was called to remove solder that looks like a wire so i can buy it, and if those tracks we can repair by putting little solder on them right? And one last thing he was afraid about is when you put that FFC connector on the tracks it cant go to far in because there is that chip that blocks it so he was afraid it would touch some other circuit.

Well thanks

here are the two picture of the wire that i need the name for and where i can buy on in canada, calgary :p or any popular names like maybe walmart?
and the second is the chip because it touches something under that looks like a circuit but should i worry about that or no?

i could not upload an image so i linked it from photobucket ( this is not my work this is the work of the tutorial when they explain how to do it ) i don't got the board to take a pic of right now but if the tracks are a big problem i would love to show it to you guys.

opps last but not least that 16 pin connector thing what is it called if i would like to get another one

Thank you again..

I do NOT give support by email, PM, ICQ or whatever. Anyone annoying me that way will have his balls removed. With a rusty butterknife. Slowly. And I'll enjoy doing it.

I beleive this is what you are looking for, RadioShack... er... the source has it. If not find out where future-active is located down there now, they will definitely have a selection of brands/sizes/types of braid (used to live down there, FA is the only decent electronic component specialist store with shelf stock in either Edmonton or Calgary - been a lot of years but they used to be in the NE just off deerfoot in the business run you can see by the Herald.)
