need HELP IMMEDIATELY!!

just recieved my new 78fk Hitachi dvd drive in the mail and i need someones help.  HELP!  So okay thats my drive and version,  what happened is i shot the original dvd drive that came with my 360 which was a 78fk hitachi (never getting the drive key before totaling it).  So now I purchased a nother 78fk and i have the key with it.  need help asap.

So you have your key or you don't   If you do use FW toolbox to insert it into a Hitachi 78 FW and flash that fw to the drive, now if you do not have the key you will need to get it from the old drive...depending on how bad it is you may be able to still hook it up and dump the firmware, get the key and use fw toolbox to put it into the new drive.  But if you are unable to hook the old drive up because it is to badly damaged then what you will need to do is de-soldered the SST chip and dump it with a programmer, get the key and use FW toolbox to do the rest.

i have the key from the new 78fk, not the original 78fk.

okay so to my understanding i need a 78fk drive with the it's original key, at the same time it doesn't have to be the original for the 360 main board.  Anybody feel free to stop me if i'm wrong, "PLEASE".

it HAS to be the key from the original drive, since it has to match the motherboard. without the key, your 360 will never play games again.

sorry to say  , but it would be best for you to get somebody to help you. who has some experience with flashing xbox 360's.
