If possible check the kernel ver and post the info. You can find that info on the system blade. I'm sure some where in the system blade you can probably change the text to english also. If the text is to crazy for that I would suggest checking out xbox.com maybe to get a map of the blades to easily locate the language selection. Depending on the kernel your box is running. Determines your ability to dump and reflash the required information to the flash to change the region.

The following assumes you have the correct 1BL key and CPU key set in the flashtool. 1. Dump the NAND from the US 360 (528-bytes-per-page) 2. Open in the latest flashtool (v0. and click [extract] 3. Edit extracted KV.bin and change 16-bits at offset 0xB8 from 0x00FF to 0x02FE 4. Open in flashtool and click [patch], check the "patch keyvault" box and select the KV.bin modified in step 3 5. Click [OK] and choose output file 6. Flash output image back to the NAND of the US 360 7. Try an EU game or two. so you first need your 1BL key and CPU key. so what's your kernel?

You can change the language by going to the last blade on the right which is the "system" blade, then hitting the 1st option "console settings", and then clicking the fourth option which is "language" and from there you can pick your language (which is fortuantely in English for English, and in French for French, etc.). Changing the language of the console changes the language used in the games (from the Japanese/Asian) including cutscenes, etc. except in a few games. So Test Drive Unlimited or Gears of War for example will be English when you change the console language to English. This doesnt mean you'll be able to play US (NTSC-U) region-only games... You'll still only be able to play Japanese/Asian region games and Region Free games, but you'll be able to play them fully in English. Dont know anything about changing the actual region... except that I've heard theres a new (and rather complicated method) for changing it... (which btw, is as far as i know, only tested on EU consoles...)

You don't actually need the 1BL key anymore. That was only required because flash tools before version 8.1 wouldn't extract the KV without extracting the CX sections first (which requires the 1BL key).

Dont you need the 1BL key to patch the kernel with the modified KV.bin?

Dont you need the 1BL key to patch the kernel with the modified KV.bin? All you need is the CPU key then you can patch the KV as much as you like. There was a bug in earlier versions of the tool but v0.81 needs only the CPU key
