Just updated to 1.3 (and maybe final)

http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=87D3150547EB626E
http://rapidshare.de/files/20863708/XBOX360_SS_Merger_1.3.rar.html

What's new :
Added an iso type autodetection feature.
Added an iso splitter to extract video partion, ss sector and game partition from iso file.

About autodection :
Iso dectection work fine with untouched image... So if you rip with wxripper, then apply Security Sector, iso type will be wrongly detected as xtreme....
To ensure that you already have the video partition, mount the iso file with deamon tools or alcohol. You should be able to play the video.

How to merge ss :

1 - Make sure you have .Net Framework 2 installed.

2 - Browse for the iso.

3 - Hit Detect.

4 - Make sure detected settings are right by looking at the selected layer break file. (Xbox Iso or Xbox 360 iso)

(If the iso was made using the xtreme way, there no way to detect if its xbox or xbox 360 so you must specify it)

5 - Browse for the Security Sector file

6 - If its an original xbox iso, click the xbox button, it will set the ss offset and choose xbox layer break file.

7 - Hit Merge and Create Layer break file

8 - Burn the .dvd file that was created with cd/dvd.

9 - Give your feedback

10 - Donate via paypal to helldoc AT gmail D0t com so i can buy a 360 ( no, i don't even have one...  i sometime have access to one with an hitachi drive... )

How to use iso splitter :1 - select your iso file (Must be a complete iso with video partition).

2 - hit xbox 360 or xbox depending on your iso.

3 - select what you want to extract

(Extraction the game partion will create a xtreme type of iso)

4 - Hit split and wait.

Great stuff! I'm just about to try a 1.3 merged iso (wxrip).

Just to make sure does it matter if its CloneCD or CloneDVD for burning?

Just updated to 1.3 (and maybe final)
plit and wait.

Just tried it on an ISO (which I think?Huh) was created with WxRipper??? When opened in UltraISO, the iso showed the contents as a UDF set of directories and files (i.e. directories called dic, movie, SOUND, and files called *.dic, *.sfd, *.xwb).

Anyway, when opened in version 1.3 of your tool, the "detect" option selects "Pad with Blank Xtreme style". I then pulled in an SS file and let it 'merge'. I then burnt to a DL. The resulting disk didn't work in my XBOX360 (teh "unknown disk" syndrome). NB. All the other backups I've created myself using the normal Xtreme extraction/patch route have worked perfectly, using the same burner and the same brand of DL disks, so I know they are not the problem.

Anyone else got this merger to work? Any ideas?

I tried with a wxripper image I made myself from my own PGR3 and merged with the SS and burnt with clonecd and I get dirty disc error. It might be because of there being multiple PAL SS for PGR3 and I got the wrong one off the net.

And guys UDF formatted rips DO NOT WORK period. They are made wrong.

HellDoc:

Do you know if you can do multiple patchings of the same iso? Say I ripped PGR3 in wxripper then patched it with an SS (the wrong one) in SS merger 1.3, so can I repatch it? Is it capable of overwriting just the SS part or will repatching screw the iso?

I will rerip it anyway but just for future reference.

I'm curious if I could take my UDF image, create xiso in Qwix, merge with ss.bin using this program, then burn and play possibly. I might just be talking out of my ass here, but I'm always wondering.

PGR3 PAL nordic with my OWN SS and ssmerger1.3 working great now!

My problem as I suspected was the PGR3PAL ss included from an unknown version of the same game. GRRR.

Since UDF formatted rips don't work, and i have looked far and wide for info on this; so don't flame me or anything. Is it possible to burn a full DVD+R-DL with data and use that as a swap disk? i saw in the original WxRipper post that his dvd label was MYDVDSwapdisk(CDFS) or something similar, but wasn't UDF format in any case.

Yes you can I made a hotswap +dl in UDF format because I added 4GB files to it then filled it to the brim with 200KB etc files I found on my hdd.

Ripped PGR3 great with the UDF disc swapdisc.

i created a full dvd9 swapdisk(CDFS) and trying it with wxRipper it says that the swapdisk is too small? i don't understand that, i have ripped the games with UDF disks(DVD films), but i can't do it with a full to the brim dvd data disk as it's too small?
edit** scratch my last, it's working after a reboot

I don't know exactly how this works, but could you make it so that an already patched image can be repatched. You would just have to overwrite the old area, right?
