from what i know the kernel always starts by loading 2.0.1888, it than patches with the rest of updates that are on the nand.

is it possible to remove 2.0.2255 and keep the remaining patches ??

just curious becous wiki tells:
Kernel 2.0.2255.0 has a blocklist for certain .xex files

so the kiosk disk is blocked.

or do all kernels include the blocklist ? otherwise it would be possible if we could remove 2.0.2255 and we would have an exploitable kernel installed to run a patched king kong demo from the kiosk disk on a console without dvd-key.

maby a long shot but if you never try, you will never know. Grin

The HV exploit only works on kernels 4532 and 4548.

Actually, I think that's what he is getting at. he wants to run an exploitable kernel and use the kiosk disk on that by disabling the lockout on the kiosk disk that was added in 2255.

however, that wouldn't really help much. you need your CPU key to create a patched NAND dump, and if you have a NAND dump and your CPU key, there's no need to use xell to get your dvd key anymore.

so when you dump your nand you cant just change one bit from the 2255 patch to let it invalidate and load the rest of the patches ?
