I was wondering if it's somehow possible to still get patches to xbox360 games (so i'm not referring to either a dashboard update or a xbox1 compatibility update) on a banned modded xbox360 with harddrive attached. Normally the Live system is used to get an update for a 360 game and I can't find any offerings of patches for xbox360's which arent connected to Live contrary to the dashboard updates and the xbox1 compatibility updates which can be leeched and burned to dvd. Is there a way?

nope, I'm afraid your right to on-going product support has been revoked by M$. Unlucky.

Since the update is on the Harddisk, why don't just take the hard drive to an unbanned box, get the update, and switch back.

since demos can be "downloaded" from 360 hdd and placed onto other 360 hdd why can't the same thing be done with patches? (just asking)

they're usually locked to the console, like arcade games etc.

I do NOT give support by email, PM, ICQ or whatever. Anyone annoying me that way will have his balls removed. With a rusty butterknife. Slowly. And I'll enjoy doing it.

Won't newer games come with the updates on them eventually? Transformers updated my system to the newest dash that I never downloaded before I got banned.

EDIT: Nevermind, I see you are asking for specific game updates, not general dash updates.

Several weeks ago, I dumped my HD image to my friend's HD and it worked perfectly, we now have all the same updates. I did this to try because we did not have the same game updates so we could not play some games. I did not want to erase all the game updates with the clear cache function.

I don't think that patches are locked to the console. If I unplug my hd from my banned console, connect it to an unbanned console and then run the game there, the hd gets the patch, which can be used on the banned console reconnecting the hd later. I'm interested in knowing in which folder the patch is downloaded. With xplorer 360 I've seen 3 partitions, the third contains a folder named cache with a bunch of file in it. Might be that? If someone who has the patch extracts the file and shares it on the internet then even the banned ones would get it (as long as they can connect the xbox hd to the pc...)
