dont know if this is right section move if not just brought a external hdd to put my wmv vids and music to play on 360 but the 360 is not picking it up do i need to do anything in setting or anything cheers

if the drive isn't even detected as an attached USB device, chances are the USB converter doesn't 100% follow the mass storage device protocols and just isn't compatible with the 360.
be aware that the HDD has to be formatted with fat32, NTFS will not work.

well i tryed to format to fat32 in windows but theres no fat32 tab and also tred the dos command that dant work is there another way i can formatt to fat32?

thanks alot lads 360 reconizes external hd now i formated using Partition magic 8.0 to fat32

You can also format it to "HFS+" for storing vids and music. Macdrive is one of the programs that will do this.  Wink
