I don't know if you guys have ever heard of this drive. I recently recieved a TS-H943 drive, it has a black disc tray instead of the normal grey color. Also, the FW revision is MS07, which I personally have never heard of. I've only heard of the MS25 and MS28. My friends Xbox died a while ago, so he sent it to me to fix it. Only the Hitachi drive was dead I guess or something. Luckily, he backed up his original FW from the Hitachi, so he bought a Samsung drive to swap with the Hitachi. I dumped the original FW from the Samsung, I used Toolbox 3.1B and applied the DVD-key from the Hitachi onto the original Samsung FW, then I spoofed it as a Hitachi 0047DH. Everything worked perfectly and no flashing errors or anything. But, it still doesn't read games just like the broken Hitachi. It looks like it starts to read it, then it just goes to Open Tray. Maybe its a motherboard issue, or some cables are dead connected to the DVD-drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I swear to god, the sticker on top of the drive says TS-H943, then when I dumped this original FW, the revision was MS07. I've never heard of this drive before at all. But, I dumped it with no problems at all, it just behaves just like the Hitachi, it just wont read games. This Samsung drive is brand new ordered from ebay. I did everything I was supposed to do, to swap drives out. It behaves exactly like his broken Hitachi, just doesnt want to read games and gives "Open Tray" error.

I believe these drives (anywhere from ms 25 DOWNWARDS) are in dev kits, open tray error could indicate a faulty laser, a bad cable, or a cable not plugged in properly

Iīve got the same Drive.

Ordered mine from Ebay.

Mine works very good but i think itīs a little bit more noisy than the ms25 or ms28 drives.

Thats strange, it plays Xbox 1 originals, but not 360 originals. Any idea why? Thanks in advance.

If it plays Xbox 1 games but not 360 games then the laser might be dying, try tweaking it or replacing it
