I hear that these are the drives to get Samsung SH-D163A or Samsung SH-D162C Flashed with Kreon's Latest Firmware for backing up 360 Games, Considering i cant not get my TS Drive to show up in Windows XP, it use to show up before but when i moved up to 1.0 i tried using enable 0800 burnt on a Dual Layer disk and nothing,

so can anyone recommend where i can get one of these drives and which one is the better drive the D163A or the D162C, No Ebay i cant use Ebay, also i live in the USA, thanks for any help with this matter

iXtreme firmwares are not for ripping anyways. Have to move down to older fw like 5.3 to create backups.

Both of those drives will work, you can pick them up from eBay...eBay is the best place for those drives just search for Kreon and you'll get what you want Wink

dude. its only gigabite..

No, i haven;t been here a long time, no, i haven't posted a lot,  but i read....... LOTS.

Every forum has atleast one person who, while trying to be helpful, is not.

Now,  with 996 posts at time of my writing,  he should know better than to just read the last post in a thread and then reply, because, if he had read the whole thing, all what 6 posts ? he would have seen in the 1st one -

http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B0009EK5MA/ref=dp_olp_2/104-0772222-9848721?ie=UTF8&qid=1179954237&sr=8-1

Here you go.  A simple google search revealed this.  Ships from Chicago, IL.  A little pricey, but it's no better than the prices on eBay if you were to buy from there.  Even comes preflashed.

The D163A would be better, since it's SATA.  But other than that, there is very little difference.

FPSRock - Just a heads up... also consider buying a usb2 external adapter to put that drive in.  That seems to solve a lot of issues with that drive.

162c works fine. Just set XBC2_5 to read speed of 8x or 10x and you shouldn't have any probs. (I get occasional read errors when set at default speed of 12x)

I was thinking more along the lines of a decent enclosed one that is powered and all.
Kinda like this or similiar designs:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010090092+1053807122&name=5.25%22

Avg price around $35 or so
