As a true soldering newbie I quickly hacked XeLL to dump the eFuses from the embedded HTTP server. Available here http://arisme.free.fr/Xbox/Fuse360/

Hope it can be helpful to somone else Wink

From what I know the fuse set (=CPU key?) is not enough, we also need the NAND image to be safe.
Do you see a way to dump this also?

Well that's a good question. I thought it'd be possible to downgrade without a NAND backup (by removing the extra patches applied) but then, perhaps not.

Then if we want to backup the NAND from software, I can see two issues - worst case scenario, it can't be mapped in XeLL (but it probably can), and best case scenario, we'll probably end up with a dump missing the parity bytes like in the other software methods. To be confirmed by a non newbie, of course Smiley

why can't the ecc bits be calculated by software?
anyway - will try it asap (searching king kong in all stores around)

keep up the good work!

from what I've read they can, but the algorithm has not been reversed exactly yet

Which burning software did you use ? I'll retry later - I'm burning it with cdrecord myself, which is not really the most common tool on Windows Smiley

Most time me use ImgBurn but it failed with a msg like "cant send cue ..." than me tested it with ONES and finaly with Ultraiso where me burn it now as TrackatOnce and i think this was the trick.

It works now but your 5. point is a bit optimistic Smiley

"5. Wait for a few seconds until the CD spins and read your eFuses Smiley "

me wait more than 60 seconds and pressed always F5 to refresh. But now me have the data and the are ident to the one from the Linux tool.

PS: Here the exaxt error msg with DAO in Imgburn so maybe its simply to small for DAO and only TAO works:

Failed to send Cue Sheet!
Operation Failed! - Duration: 00:00:22

yeah, sounds like a good investigation and a likely possiblity. I'll retry tonight and add that in the instructions. I'll update point 5) as well, it's true that the CD takes some time to spin sometimes Wink

thanks to all testers and appreciators Smiley

Updated version : can dump the NAND (without ECC bits) as well. In fact this feature was commented out in XeLL, so not too much work to do Cheesy

can't get it to work. There seems to be a problem with the network because i can not ping my box, even in original dashboard.. The media checks are successful however..
How does the xell loader sets up the network? does it use dashboard settings?

worked fine for me.
the network settings are done by creating the image of your choice on the page linked.

how about adding support for a 1BL dump as well?

I do NOT give support by email, PM, ICQ or whatever. Anyone annoying me that way will have his balls removed. With a rusty butterknife. Slowly. And I'll enjoy doing it.

Did the nand dump, but it seems im only getting 0.7kbs, is this correct? Does it take a few hours to dump the 16mb file? 18 hours to be excact, speed is dropping even more.

It read the cpu key fine btw, thnx Wink

got it to work now.
cpu key reading was OK
NAND dump is also slow:
at the beginning it was at 0.5 kb/s but now it is at 3.5 kb/s and keeps rising... should be OK.

thanks @ arisme!

EDIT: it runs now at 5.3 kb/s

Amazing...  Thank you so much, got my efuses and nand (which went really fast ~ 10 secs. but I had to try 3 times).

The NAND flash will be the same as that from the linux tool/script but different from that from infectus which has the ECC bits right?
