Thats the card I have. I got that other chipset number (1103) from Windows System Information, but the actual chip says "HPT374" (without the 1). In any case, the picture looks exactly the same and its the same model number, so I'd assume its the same chipset

Any chance of you posting the hex'd files you had to use, I will pick up this or the 1520 tomorrow. Both have that chip.

Does anyone know if this will work with the Toshiba Drive?
ASUS P4S8X - It has the SiS 648 North Bridge / 963 South Bridge and Promise Serial ATA controller. From the first post, I see the following:
Promise Sata controller on the ASUS P4C800E-Deluxe - Compatible with DVD drive, not HDD
While it's not the exact same motherboard I am thinking the adapter is the same. At this point I don't care about the HDD, just the DVD. So I'm just wondering if anyone had tested this and/or knows if this should work before I rip apart the 360.
I also need to find a hacked firmware for my DVD-R as it currently doesn't support bitsetting - but before I start to go through all this trouble I just want to make sure my mb SATA adpater will work with this drive.

This is for those who were interested in purchasing a cardbus/pcmcia sata that does not have a Silicon image chipset. This SATA cardbus uses VIA VT6421 Chipset I plan on purchasing one of these to test with. I will post all my results. http://www.neticamall.com/adwords/P_1431.htmWill a cardbus/pcmcia sata card work in DOS? I thought those cards required drivers... Yes cardbus/pcmcia cards can work in dos. You must have pcmcia card services support installed on your laptop. This can be achieved one of two ways: Option a. Download the necessary drivers for your laptop manufacture (google search for pcmcia card services). Option b. Download generic Cardsoft drivers. Its still pure speculation if this is a viable option for hacking the 360.

SUCCCESS! Used Tbirdguys hex-edited mtkflash, worked like a charm. Dumped original firmware, wrote my modified firmware, etc. Xbox 360 still booting original discs Now onto flashing with the 0800 firmware and trying to make an actual ISO (let's hope windows detects the drive with the 0800 firmware flashed using this card, I'll update when I finally try it)! Thanks Tbirdguy for posting your info, it helped me out, and it looks like some other people are getting the same card, so you probably helped more than just me

One thing to add: Be VERY careful flashing to/from a floppy disk. If you get a read error during the flash, it might not be good (not sure if it buffers entire flash file before write starts). Just one thing to think about. Mtkflash ran ALOT faster/reliable of my C:\!

What did you use to access your NTFS drives from dos? NTFSDos?

Try using nero to create a bootable cd-r. I used NTFS4DOS and added that to my startup floppy, then used my startup floppy to create my bootable cd. I also put all of my 360 tools on it for backup purposes. Hope this helps.

For those without a Fry's in your area, you can get this card from Fry's Outpost.com for $25 plus shipping. http://shop2.outpost.com/product/3812387Just ordered it. Shipped overnight so I could try it this weekend. Overnight shipping was only $3 more than ground anyway. Can't wait to give this hack a try.

Just for reference, the card that I finally got working (Highpoint RocketRAID 1xxx, chipset named either HPT374 (on-chip) or HPT1103 (in msinfo32)) was great for reading / writing with MTKFlash but sucked for everything else.
First of all, it takes forever to boot. I assume that it boots fast once a RAID array is created, but that is not what we are doing here. Second, I couldnt get the TS-H943 recognized in windows at all with this card.
Once I flashed with the Xtreme0800 firmware, I put the CompUSA SiL3512 back in my PC and connected the TS0H943 to that. Worked perfectly in windows.
So for now I am stuck swapping PCI cards in my PC until I find one that does it all. (I could just keep both cards in, but that Highpoint card is super-annoyingly slow when booting)
BTW, are any mods going to edit the main page of this thread with all the findings thus far?

BTW, are any mods going to edit the main page of this thread with all the findings thus far That was my original plan, but unfortunately the "modify" option disappeared. Apparently you can only edit for a certain period of time after you post (X-S is like that, but I didn't know this board is too)... What I can do, perhaps, is compile the update and send it to a mod and ask them to update it. Tomorrow I'll give that a go

Can someone please post their working .exe file? also re the updates on the main page, maybe if we had the main page posted as a reply in this thread every so often, then that would work?

Will this card work??
Serial ATA (intern + extern) + IDE combo-card with Via VT6421L + Winbond W94V002AP chip.
Can buy it for € 22,50
Assuming you're dutch, where did you find it? The card might infact work with the hex edited mtkflash posted by tbirdguy on page 4. The chipsets seem to match appart from the "L" at the end. I'm looking for this card quite a while now but I can't find any in my area. So again, where did you get it.....?? some guy in breda, mailme for details
