Hi Guys,

my old Xbox 360 with a Hitachi 47 is banned. Now, i want to buy a new Xbox 360 and flash it with the new IXtreme. Should i buy a 360 with a Samsung- or Hitachi-Drive? Or is it all the same?

Thanks for your help! Greetings from Germany!

If you have the ability to check what drive it has before you buy it, I would say go with a Samsung, the firmware releases come out first and quicker and so far Sammy's have had more features. The only downside to them is they can be tricky to flash if you don't have compatible hardware or all the proper tools. Hitachi's in comparison are easier to flash but don't have as many features. The new iXtreme is supposed to close the gap in the differences between the drives but who knows when we'll see it, where as Sammy firmware is available as we speak.....

Thats why I said that... ;-)

No but really. The T/S drive has no rubber bumpers around the laserlens. Thus makes sometimes the problem of scratches on the discs. BenQ hardware is close to the T/S drive, but has rubber bumers, makes less sound spinning and the firmware will be there soon. C4E is specialist on the T/S drive, and had already the BenQ drive FW just before the banning started. So that's a matter of days/weeks. Same on Hitachi

I really think I would go for a BenQ nowadays

My friend works in a Game-Store. Next week commes a new delivery with "fresh" 360's. So, i hope there is a samsung-drive inside.

I trust in the work of C4EVA, Opa, Schtrom, Redline and all these people. Thank you for your hard work!  Smiley

im not sure but i heard people saying that it might be possible that they can see firmware changes so just to be safe i would flash before going online.
