Anyone here test this with a plextor burner? Does anyone know if the Plextor 755sa supports bitsetting? From what I can tell DvDinfoPro doesn't support changing bitsetting on a plextor drive.

im 1000% sure plextor supports bitsetting dont worry its not in the software its determined its in the firmware of the drive

the 109 will always set it to dvd-rom on +R duallayer media, with all firmwares.

Pioneers can also be flashed with piodata firmware because the piodata drives are just rebadged pinoneer drives, but their firmware allows the users to set the booktype manually.

But as stated before, all dual layer pioneer burners automatically set DL medial booktype to dvd-rom dl, I guess us pioneer owners are just lucky Wink

dont go crazy use KDx v1.1
whit the firmware patch to work whit kdx all you need to do opend the firmware whit kdx and edit the 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 whit your key

Most burners do that so your not so lucky =)

EDIT: Maybe someone can answer my q.. If my key is @ 4444 should i paste the key in xtreme.bin @ 4444 also? Isit the firmware that knows the location or the 360 itself?

plextor are top of the line so bitsetting is pretty much a given on there end. Not sure but in the beginning of the dvd burning scene early on programs only supported lite on doing bitsetting, maybe your dvdinfopro is an older vers?

dvdinfo pro doesnt have a setting to change the bitsetting its built into the drive its self

95% of high end dvdrw dl drives support bit setting but only on dual layer disks which is great because thats what we are using

anyway just trial and error the disks are not that expensive i pick mine up for 1.70 each

i wasted 5 disks no biggie

Wouldnt it be easier to buy an extra TS drive and build that power adapter that Wunsick worked up and just keep it permanently in your pc?  That is what I am considering.  Then you could leave the xtreme0800 firmware on there.

That is what I will be doing if this hack sticks around...

I'm new and i have a lot to learn
I read a lot the past few days about this but getting a little bit confused
There a 2 ways to do the FW change  hexedit the key into xtreme.bin  or with KDX1.2 extreme_proper.bin
the last one looks easyer but I can't  find anywhere if it works Huh
Which way should I use to change my FW
I've  just seen a  post on usenet of a game  with the SS already in the iso but it's ntsc
I have a Pal X360 will the ntsc game work on my PAL360 ?

Also I will try to extend this mod in order to install an external Sata cable from the 360 Samsung (I will think of a way
to attach 2 Sata cables to the 360 drive at the same time, the original 360 cable and a second one used for attaching it to PC )
by the way is there a male Sata socket available ( like the one that is on the PC motherboard itself ) ?!?
That was my first thought, so I did it.  One end connects to the board, the other end connects to the drive.  When you want to flash it, just undo the loop and plug it into the PC.  When you want to play, plug the loop back together.  Much easier than ripping it apart, looks better than leaving it apart, and it's cheaper than buying a second drive.  CompUSA had SATA extension plates (sku 336206), so I cut one of them up.  Also, I had to tear a good portion of the jacket surrounding the connector on the SATA cable off so that it would make a tight 90 degree angle to plug into the board and fit under the drive.

GOT IT WORKING

you need to type the 4 ss commands first and then right after type the unlock command. MAKE SURE you delete all the 00's so its just FF 08 01 01 and nothing else. I thought i would state this seeing noone did.
