People asking for the easiest form of making a dump..... http://gael360.free.fr/Wxripper is on there to download, if your PC drive is ok with hotswapping, this is by far the easiest way to rip the discs. Also to save time ripping after you have chose your big dvd and got the magic number. Create a custom layout from those numbers. Open up your custom.ltf file and edit the first three letters all to D's so it looks like this.... D19408 D1072 D109344 C1783936 J285728 C1783936 J0 I have used this method on all of my discs and they all work flawlessly. Why do you need to edit the first letters to all D's? Just curious. thx

It works fine.

I dummy those area's as i have had errors reading from them, with these dummied, it seemed to rip it quicker and the game still boots fine. I know you posted similar info earlier, that didnt stop the moochers posting upto page 19 asking for a solution. I simply figured it would cut down on the "how do i......".

Would it actually be feasible to purchase an extra sammy drive just so you can keep it in your pc to backup your games? Provided that you assembled the power adapter from http://devo-e.com/dvdhax/?p=13

Also having some sata problems i guess... I'am able to read and dump the firmware of the drive (i have an asus a8n-sli premium and i'am using the nforce4 sata ports en the modified mtkflash). However I'am not able to write firmware to the drive. Once I start mtkflash w (/m) fw.bin and the select the sata master, the xbox powerled is flashing and the screen output says something about the port etc. But then it keeps hanging.
Going on a search for a pci sata card (hopefully promise) tomorrow...

So far none pci cards working though.... except for a VIA VT6421 with a specially hex edited mtkflash (not the one for NF4 but a custom one). For more details check out the "TS-H943 SATA Compatability List & Tips" topic

Can moderators do something about postings out of place? if i were a moderator i would move all this posts to the threads created for this specific questions. I think this thread is for the discussion of the firmware itself, not about flashing it, burning games, etc...
Am i the only one that finds this too hard to follow?
To people having troubles (flashing, burning, dvd key, etc): please post on the correct threads or open a new thread if there isn't one already.
Please excuse me for my whining.
Best regards.

I think this thread is for the discussion of the firmware itself, not about flashing it, burning games, etc... I see your point, but there isn't much really to say about the firmware itself, except "thanks for the great firmware", lol... I agree though, if you are having problems with SATA, flashing, there are other threads that might be more appropriate for that...

Hi, I have read through this page and some people are having problems on nforce4 motherboards with the extreme0800.bin firmware, it keeps crashing windows.
If you goto add remove programs and remove the ide part (as the sata is emulated on ide) of the nforce driver everything works fine,
God knows what causes it but the fix works, i found it out by installing windows on a new drive and the 360 drive worked ok,
Then i installed nforce drivers and it locks up on loading xp
Something that is also intresting is i have a pc i use at work with the exact same nforce motherboard in and has nforce drivers installed and that works fine, must be because its an older driver
oh yeah the firmware is great thanks for all your efforts :-)

Read through everything re edited the mtkflash file for my intel controller, got the xbox 360 flshed with the fireware. Just one thing, the bit where you are extracting usng isobuster and it mentions to set the Xbox 360 Original Number of LBA to read 3567872 if i do this then i get no errors on the created image file. But if i let isobuster set the limit it results in a slighlty larger image and you do get the mentioed errors. Which is the correct setting to use ?

I'm not really sure if this belongs in this thread so please don't flame me. I was just curious if one could use carranzafp's little proggy to patch the ss.bin into a xbox360 game. Thanks for all your help and expertise and sorry for the ass-kissing. Cheers.

In the Xtreme readme, it makes this statement:
Reads Xbox 360 security sector from PSN 04FB1F (Layer 0) Reads Xbox 1 security sector from PSN 605FF (Layer 0)
That means the SS sector is placed right after the VIDEO section on the DVD, just before the GAME section.
So why is everyone using Dual-Layer games?
Some of this games are smalll enough to fit all one one layer.
So has anyone tested just adding the blank spacer file in the front, then the SS sector, then a GAME ISO small enough to fit on a single-layer, and then trying to BOOT it?
