[Read the rest of my post, if it can be locked down is has to be able to be unlocked
that all depends on how it is "locked down" and what flexibility we have to counter this response. like we can't modify signed files. we can modify the firmware. so the solution to any "lock down" would have to be implementable in that realm.

Having problems booting xbox 360 dvd drive with xtrm0800.bin flashed on it. My bios detects the 360 drive. My problem is when I try to boot up windows with my 360 dvd drive plugged in and turned on the windows loading screen freezes and I can't load windows. As soon as I unplug the 360 drive everything works again. I have tried plugging in the 360 drive when windows is loaded but also freezes/no response. I have tried many combinations between my 4 sata ports. I have been able to do everything but try to create my own backups because I can't get windows to load with the drive plugged in.
I have a DFI Nforce 4 Ultra Chipset I have a sata2 harddrive All raid is disabled Was able to do orignal dump and hacked firmaware flash sucessfully Atleast I can play originals but unable to test backups becuase of this problem
ANy help? TIA

you didn't write you key in the firmware correctly. if you don't have the correct key then it won't play games.
have you heard of the concept of failing and then trying again?

Having problems trying to burn with cloneCD. I put a blank double layer dvd+r media in burner select the right image but when i click to burn it says not enough space to burn. it gives me two options one over burn or i can burn to end of media file. I tried overburn and didnt work. Can someone help me please. It even shows 4.5GB of image and shows i have 8 gigs of space on blank dvd media! thanks

For people that have not the XTRM0800 recognized under windows, you can use a sata-to-ide converter, all CDB commands pass successfully, at least for my converter with JMicron chip. Anyway, sata-to-ide converter doesn't work on mtkflash.

hi there, first of all i'd like to thank everyone that made this possible and now i'm going to ask, maybe a dumb question is it possible to buy a x360 with the hitachi-lg drive and install a toshiba-samsung with the hitachi key?? if i did understand this right, the hacked firm just changes the place where the drive reads the protection, and that's why we have to write the SS file. right?

Hi Guys.. for those who are having problems with inserting their keys into the extreme.bin firmware: 1- U dont need any program or patcher to extract or to insert your key, except a hex editor and I use WinHex 2- Get ur original firmware with MTKFLASH, keep a side backup of it somewhere on ur PC, then open the orig.bin file with a hex editor ( WinHex ) and goto address 0004000 (hexadecimal) here u should select all data until u reach the address 0004200 the key is somewhere between this limit, but to make sure just copy the whole block ( 0004000 to 0004200 ) 3- Now open the file extreme.bin and also go to address 0004000, select everything until 0004200 and now at this point u must paste the data (the 0004000 to 0004200 block ) u copied from ur original firmware file exactly onto this block...got it 4- After u paste the block in the extreme.bin file, save it to a new file let's say : key_patched.bin and this is your patched firmware now that will be able to boot your copies. 5- Now... there's another supplied firmware in the package called something like extrm0800.bin this one is needed to be flashed just in case u need to backup ur original discs. And when done with ur backups and u are ready to play, u have to flash ur patched firmware again. Regards.... Rogero
