After 3 different PC's tried, I got it detected under windows...   I have the samsung flashed with xtrm0800.bin and I am trying to retrieve the Security Sectors of different games,

I have now the SS from NTSC versions of:

Call of duty 2
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter
Fifa 06
Perfect Dark Zero
Condemned
Quake 4

The problem is that I re-dumped a 2nd time just for verification purposes and the 2nd versions dumped differs from the first ones !!!   There are differences on 1 or 2 bytes but now I dont know if that is "normal" or wich one of the generated versions I must patch....   Must I type the 4 cdb commands at any specific timing?  Somebody is experimenting this same results?

I was posting the hash values of my versions but I have 5 or 6 differents for each one so it is useless.

Edit:
By the way, the first one that I have dumped from Call of duty 2 and Ghost Recon Advanced Warefighter are exactly equal to the ones posted by Sniperkil on his 15 NTSC sectors package, but the 2nd ones differs and the 3rd ones and so on...

Currently no.  You need a DVD burner that allows you to put DVD+R DL booktype to DVDRom.

Yip sorted my drive out today, had to go buy a core to test it though as my first unit is Hitachi.  Got a working backup of Battlefield 2, but was wondering about retrieving the SS's, will the multi region games have the same SS as pal and ntsc versions?
And is it possible to rip SS data using the SDG605b with modified Firmware?

Another Big question?

Does somebody have tried to change the default SS location search address on the xtreme.bin ?

I mean, I want to burn my image with different SS.bin files (because I got several for the same game) and I want to patch on 04FB1F, 04FB1E, 04FB1D and 04FB1C) In that way I just must need to reflash my drive in case of one of them does not work, instead of burning several coasters

I have identified the code where I need to replace the address but my doubt is: We need to patch the checksum?  for xbox1 hack there was no need to patch the checksum but I am not sure on this, I dont want to fry my drive because it is damn hard to remove the chip for manual flashing.  Somebody who has their drive socketed can try this?  bluecop, can you try this ?

Thanks

carranzafp: i can try it later.

look for lcall   X0654 and right after that will be a PSN. i haven't disasm the firmware yet i will tonight. if you do search for hex values of a PSN check for 12 06 54(lcall X0654) before those bytes to verify it.

there isn't a checksum done on the firmware when starting. there might be some debug commands that will send a checksum to the 360 though but nothing that will prevent reflashing the drive. i think you will be safe from bricking your drive just experiementing with changing the PSN of the SS.

anyone backup oblivion yet? my burn is giving me an error... it comes up play game in the dash, when i hit it, goes black.. sounds like its loading for a bit.. then comes up with an error..

its possible i dumped the SS incorrectly while i was very tired last night,

ive made 7 other games that work fine, so i dont know if i just happened to dump the ss wrong while i wasnt paying attention or if its just a bad burn, or bad image, or if oblivion just has problems

and blue i know about your oblivion already.. looking for someone that did it with the sammy via com4's method

Sniperkil, I dump my ss several times just to be sure and the 2nd ones were different to the first ones !!!

It is weird... all of them are valid?   some of my sectors are equal to the ones in your package but others differs.... you have not experimented that?  or maybe you only make 1 dump for each game?

Silicon Image 3114R RAID controller on it

I think there is more than one place, even on this particular thread, that says si3112/3114 doesn't work.

I looked into this, the samsung drive does not allow you to flash with the silicon 3112/3114 chipset no matter what. The flash program was not designed to work with it. The LG/Hitachi drive can work on the 3112/3114 chipset on the other hand - but requires you to use the linux CD to force the drive into ModeB.
how can itell what chipset i have?
