I put my 16 byte key where it was in my original firmware $401A, it stated that in order to get this cd to work " put it in an xbox 360 console"
I tried it at $4000, and then tried putting in the bytes $4000-$4019 that were in my original firmware (bytes previous to that and after were shared by your firmware as well as mine.  Both of which gave me the error 65 screen.

Editting to make it more legible

SniperKil: what command did you use to dump?

mtkflash r /sata org.bin
should work just fine.

Can someone post the hash for the download?  I can understand removing the link, it'd be good to make sure people are getting the real deal.

Sniper: i wouldn't. i looked at the xtreme.bin and it has all FF starting at 0x4000.

i would extract 0x4000 till the you start seeing all FFs in your orginal and then overwrite that in the xtreme.bin

i dont't think that program would patch that whole block. just the placement of the key which i don't think would work since commador FF'd all the information in the 0x4000 block

Creating a game backup
-----------------------------------

Ensure DVD drive has been flashed with Xtrm0800.bin firmware. Drive can now work under Windows.
Extract Isobuilder.rar
Insert original game disk into drive and wait for windows to detect disk change
Run DVDinfoPro
Enter the following custom cdb command to unlock drive: (game data visable)

FF 08 01 01

Run Isobuster
Right click on DVD and select Extract From-To
Click Length and enter number of LBAs as follows:

Xbox 1 Original Number of LBA to read 3431264 decimal
or
Xbox 360 Original Number of LBA to read 3567872 decimal
Select User Data (2048 bytes/block)
Click Start Extraction
Enter filename as game.iso and click Save
Upon read error dialogue box choose fill with blank zeros for sector and select use this selection for all errors
Copy game.iso and ss.bin to the relevent isobuilder directory (Depending on Xbox 360 or Xbox 1 game)
Run build360.bat (Xbox 360 game) or build.bat (xbox 1 game)
Ensure your burner will set the booktype of DVD+R DL to DVDRom
Burn with CloneCd and choose the image.dvd file

im kind of confused, each of the cdb commands from dvd info pro create 2kb .bin files, adding them together creates a 8kb file. If this is the SS.bin file needed to create the images then while are all the SS files 2kb. Are we not supposed to run each cdb and add the output together for the ss.bin? Also when i ran the unlock code for the drive and check the drive in windows explorer i expected to see some data files but still did not, just the dvd partition stuff. anyone have any idea what im doing wrong?

UPDATE:: Sniperkill just told me that all the 4 cdb commands output the same 2k of info. why are 4 dumps of the same info required. Sniperkill also mentioned that he compared his 2k dump to the ones included and it matched. anyone know why there are 4?

Zenofex: you won't see the unlocked partition in windows explorer. it is a Xbox dvd file system and windows doesn't have a driver to read that.

so you got the xtrm0800.bin flashed drive working in windows? i am still trying to get that working. so i can't help you with the dvd info pro commands because i haven't tried it myself.

Edit: ok i have goten several pms asking for a download link. i won't answer these messages. i just delete them.

Yeah, i got that flashed, the other thing is isobuster doesn't say "DVD" it sais "CD" so that is kind of throwing me off, i will try to get this rip done and give it a test run, ive already also flashed the hacked firmware to test it out and it seemed to play originals fine. now to create the backup

My bad, user error.  Replaced bytes $4000-4029(end of my key) with my original firmwares bytes then reprogrammed.  Restarted my 360 and FN3 original loaded right back up.  So I can attest to the fact thta it won't boink your drive by doing so.

Is there a way to create a dvd which autoboots in the xbox360 and flashes the firmware of the dvd drive?

P.s

do you have to hexedit all the iso's?
