so now that i have gotten everything done and a few games copied and working, ive run into a situation. ive backed up tomb raider, and am using the build360 batch file, but it exits at the same spot every time and i end up with a file around 259MB. anyone encounter anything like this, or could it be the game? perhaps i did the ss.bin incorrectly?

I didn't have a problem ripping Tomb Raider (NTSC)

Okay, I've been told and researched that my Plextor 755sa supports bitsetting. Well, I can't change it anywhere. And dvdinfopro says my drive isn't supported. If I attempt to burn a game will it just set it to dvd-rom even though dvdinfopro says it's set to DVD+R DL?

A little off topic guys but i just took apart my newly bought 360 and im a little worried.  Everytime i tip the console, it makes a noise like a paint can does kinda.  Just wonderin if this is normal b/c if not it would be too late for me to bring it back now.  Thanks.

I've ran into the same troubles..  Undecided
When I insert the disc into the box it spins for 30 secs, then the dashboard gives an 'disc unreadable error'. Im quite sure i followed the instructions as stated in the readme with the FW. BTW I used an NEC 3520AW(external USB) and Philips DL media (BTW , dvdinfopro gives both booktype and mediatype as dvd-rom)

I have the same problem. im using nec 3500AG firm. 2.1A  ....disc spins longtime and 'disc unreadable error'

i used xtreme proper firmware inserted my key and flashed. originals work fine, so the flash was a succes ?
The problem is in the burning i think ? i tested the media fujifilm dvd+rDL"with burning a dual layer movie...works great

simple question. Flashing to xtreme is to boot backed up games but probably detectable by Live, but if you flash back to the original firmware would the xbox be considered legit on live or do you think they will know its been tampered with?

If you flashed with original firmware before going on live, I think you would be okay.

OMGGGGGGG I LOVE EVERYONE THAT HAS CONTRIBUTED TO THIS HACK AND SHARED THEIR TROUBLESHOOTING AND EVERYTHING ELSE.

I was finally able to pick up some DL DVD's, and every one of my backup images burned and play like a CHARM. I <3 you guys!

Strange... I have reflashed the samsung. This time I copied the entire block from $4000 to $4200. This because my keys starts at $401A and there are some non-FF's right in front of it (mainly EE EE EE 01). At first I got the unrecognized message in the dashboard, but after this reflash I get an 'disk is unreadable.' (the right blade in the dashboard moving in)

It looks to me that the bytes surrounding the key is important ?

I got the key from my firm. and pasted it to my xtreme_proper.bin with kdx. saved and flashed the firmware to my samsung.
The drive reads originals, dual layer movies. and the media shows dvd-rom in dvdinfo. but still i get error  'disc unreadable error'

Should the 360 boot originals if the key inserted to xtreme_proper firm. is wrong ?
My backups should work now ?
Is my problem something to do with implementing the security sector ? or burning, but definetly not on the hardware ?

does it boot originals? if not then copy everything from $4000 all the way till you start seeing all FF's

the 360 wont boot originals if your key isnt there or if its incorrect, so your firmware is on point but your burning is not
