And STILL NOBODY can call ONE sata pci card that WORK? (chipset 4 example?)

I'd like to know this as well. I haven't got an onboard sata chipset so a pci card would be great if it actually works!! Any ideas??

edit:
Sorry, just read the sata compatabilety toppic....we'll just have to wait and find out I guess.

Hi guys,

i need your help again :-)

If patched my Toshiba Samsung DVD-ROM with the xtrm0800.bin and i would like to get out a ss.bin of my original disc. Now i started DVDInfoPro selected my TS DVD-ROM selected cdb commands enter the following command:

FF 08 01 01

AD 00 FF 02 FD FF FE 00 08 00 01 C0
AD 00 FF 02 FD FF FE 00 08 00 03 C0
AD 00 FF 02 FD FF FE 00 08 00 05 C0
AD 00 FF 02 FD FF FE 00 08 00 07 C0

Save hexidezimal to bin file!

AND NOW THE BIG PROBLEM: My SS.bin's are diffrent all the time. From the same game the are diffrent?Huh Why this???

Regards and thanks for awnsering,

CoDeX2k

Come on, Read the damn topic in full.... this question has been asked and solved...  they differs because of timing calculations but should work fine

Just a confirmation that this works, verified by backing up NTSC GUN.  Some things I ran into:  NForce 4 sata controller (on an msi neo 4 platinum sli) worked for flashing the drive with the mtkflash modified for nf4, however windows wouldn't boot with the drive connected to that controller.  I ran out to compusa and picked up a $30 SATA controller with a silicon image 3512 chipset.  This board picked up the drive with the xtrm0800 firmware without issue.  From that point on, followed the readme to the letter with success.

So you were able to read/write the firmware from DOS? I had this same card, had no luck at all, took it back. Did you edit mtkflash? Please post details in the compat thread if you can.... Thx.

I flashed the device to the xtrm0800 firmware using the NF4's chipset, and then used the PCI card to see it in windows.  So the DOS flashing was all done through the onboard nforce 4 controller, but it could only be seen in windows from the SII card.

That is what I thought. Have you tried to flash the Xtreme firmware back to the drive using the CompUSA card (instead of switching it back to the NF4)? Just curious if it will work on your PC since I couldn't get mtkflash to detect it... You might have to hexedit if it doesn't work initially, if you know how to do all of that... Any other info you can provide would be appreciated, of course only if you feel like doing this extra work  Wink

Maybe you could post all the card info from sysinfo. I couldn't boot it into Windows when I had the card, because I actually have other cards in my PCI slots and didn't want to mess with the driver issues that it could cause by booting without them, etc...

If we can get this card working, with mtkflash, we can make a lot of peoples day as this card is VERY accessible to most people   Grin

can anybody tell me how i can unlock the xbox360 drive??? i already make the full process, but when i put de ff 08 01 01 cdb command it show that a sense error occurred.
like this:

OK I updated the firmware and tested an original 360 game and it works.  I reloaded the xtrm0800 firmware.  I'm in Windows and I sent the custom commands to to get the ss.bin.  Now I'm stuck on:

Enter the following custom cdb command to unlock drive: (game data visable)

FF 08 01 01

Can't get it to work.  I open up DVDINFO, set it to TS-H943 drive, select Send Custom Command just like I did to enter the commands for ss.bin.  Now I set the CDB Size(decimal) to 4, and I type in FF 08 01 01 in the 4 sections and it gives me this error:

Command 0ffh returned:
Sence 00h             No Sence
ASC   00h
ASCQ  00h         No more info

PLEAAASSE HELP US!!

OK I have backed up my games before the firmware was released.  I have updated my firmware and now want to take these raw dump ISOs and make backups of them with the security sectors.  I have and own the discs so I can get the security sectors off of my discs.  I have tried it with my Quake 4 but was unsucessful and don't want to keep making coasters out of my DL+DVDs.  Has anyone been sucessful in doing this?  If so what steps did you take to do this.

Hi, ive been having a problem with the backups that i have made, i have done 2 so far, Call of duty and GRAW.  I know the drive is working with the patch firmware, because, it boots original games, i have also patched with the generic xtreme.bin to make sure that the drive was actually patching, and when i did, it wouldnt only play a dvd movie when i put an original game in.  so the problem comes when i try to play the backups.  Some times they work, some times they dont.  They have both worked at least once.  Is it possible that the media i am using (Memorex DVD+R DL 2.4x) is not good for this? As anyone tried these and had the same problem?  If the backups were not working correctly, should it show up as a dvd or just not detect the disk at all? Again, the thing that i find strange is that both backup's have worked, at least once.  both times when they worked, it was after i put the originals in.  Any help would be appriaciated.   Thanks

I've got my drive recognized in windows, but is there a good way to tell if its working right? Is this [DVDInfoPro] stuff hit or miss, or do I need a specific version? I can't extract the ss with the commands given (I get Command 0adh returned: Sense 09h Vendor Specific error) so I skipped to the unlock step which worked, and I made the game.iso. I went back to try the commands for the ss.bin again and i keep getting the same error. Now I cant unlock the drive (Command 0ffh returned error) leading me to think it'll work sometimes but not others, is this correct or am I doing/have I done something wrong?

I got the firmware flashed, and originals are booting. I've extracted the SS from Condemned, and it looks okay in hex. I'm pretty sure I've dumped the game correctly, because it at least boots up with the "You must play this in a 360 console" error movie.

I tried opening the image.000 in wxripper and it says it isn't a valid xbox iso. I also tried to hex edit the image.000 and it appears to be mostly zeroes, with a few exceptions in the ss.bin offset, among other things.  Are these things normal?

I'm down to my last DL and I'm not sure what to do next...I've followed everything to a T. As an extra note, do these backups play in DVD players just like the pressed ones do? I popped a retail Fight Night into my PS2 and it boots up the video, but I boot up the burn of Condemned and it won't play anything at all.

if you can't handle the instructions that come with it, then you are simply not meant to use this hack.
seriously, folks.. we aren't here to spoon feed everyone, there's LOTS of information right with the hack, and in these forums too.. if you can't make sense of that or are unwilling to invest enough time to read up some, then you will f*** up your 360 during the hack installation anyways.

as to what i said before, another question.  if you put a backup in your computer, should it act the same as an original ie: open up as a dvd and say this disc need to be used in an xbox 360?
