ok im trying to dump a 0078fk. now I hook the 78 up go into bios and is detected as primary or secondary (depends what sata slot I plugg it in.) sata drive. now I have two other drives hooked up on ribbon cables. I can boot the slax cd on my primary drive. but when my hitachi is pluged in regardless weather its primary or secodary when I choose boot from "cd rom drive" it fails to start. my guess is that its trying to boot slax from my 78. im on a dell 46OO. Any ideas are good. also would buying a via help

Why wouldn't you boot slax from your 78?
Unhook everything except your 78.

im not. when I choose boot drive.  it chooses the 78 by its self. and If you unplug evrything how are you gonna boot slax dumbass.

Boot from the Cd rom and then plugin slax right when it starts. It will re-detect your drive and send it into modeB.

keep the tray open while slax still on tray b4 u choose boot from cd-rom close the tray the hit enter
