I have a problem with Toolbox 3.1br and my 79fk drive, when i start my xb360 all seems to work but after the intro i have the error E64.
Apparently there are new versions of the 79FK not supported by toolbox 3.1Br.
Is anyone know what how to patch with an hex editor the firmware ?

Hmm.

Currently the Toolbox can't dump or flash the v79 drive.

It can only open an already made dump via external programmer,
display the key, and can also "smart hack patch" the dump to
make an Xtreme v1.7 firmware, but this new firmware has to
be programmed using an external programmer, you can't flash
directly to your drive using the Toolbox v3.1repack

How did you dump the drive?

Where is your key located? (4B00, 4C30, 4D20, 4E10)

How did you flash you drive?

Hi Gary,

Thanks for your reply, I have desoldered my tsop and read the firmware with a willem.
After this step i have used firmware toolbox 31br, decrypt, smart patch, encrypt, resolder the tsop.
The key is located at 4E10.
I think there is a problem with toolbox, i have tried with toolbox 3.0, 3.1,3.1b,3.1br
The output file with 3.1,3.1b,3.1br is the same.

Have you an idea about this problem ?

I stil have another question, when i use the "smart hack patcher function", in the rom version display i have: Hitachi-GDR3120L-0079 - [XTRM:MAX:79/V1.7].
The cheksum displayed id :00000000.
If i go to spoof firmware, and i select Hitachi GDR3120L ROM0079, i can choose with Master Checksum and Calculated Checksum.
If i select Calaculated checksum the software generate a checksum, is is necessary to have a checksum ?

quote:
a) de-solder the tsop,
b) read it with external programmer
c) decrypt it
d) use SMART HACKER option on the toolbox to generate the 79 hacked binary.
e) encrypt the hacked binary (dont forget this step)
f) reflash with external programmer
g) re-solder the tsop

Thanks for the information, but how can i downgrade the firmware to V59 ?
Is it possible to put a V59 firmware in a 79FK ?
Is there a hardware difference between a 78 and 79 drive, or just the firmware ?

if i was you i would wait for the new firmware.

you will be able to flash a79 with it according to gary opa

The v79 will be software flashable once I finish the new coding, in testing stages this weekend.

Sorry, on iXtreme firmwares, non-stealth games will not boot, live or not, they will not boot.
The only way to insure a safe new firmware, will be to stop usage of this discs, people will
just have to throw out their old discs, and reburn new ones from the originals. For those that
don't they will have to use the old firmware and the system will be banned from Live.
