Just a thought, dont know if it could be true or not, but maybe they are doing it via order of manufacturing date?
Mine was manufactured at the end of March 06 and is banned, has a Hitachi 47 drive.
I know 3 people who have 360's all manufactured after July 06 and they are still all signing into live without a problem, they all have Hitachi 59's.

My guess is that EVERYONE will get banned...
There is not 1 thing anybody did to be sure thats what caused the ban... besides modding the console... and the only thing to do, is not get online until there is a fix (if ever) which is pretty much an "auto-ban"...
-All drives get banned
-Every version of firmware has at least a couple of banned reports...
-Reports say that there are people that didnt go near Crackdown/Halo3 (original or otherwise) and still got banned
-Some people even report playing only originals after the update, or nothing at all and still got banned...
-Banning on all the world (my guess, i confirmed by people i know Mexico, England and Usa)
We need to know how M$ is identifying the modded consoles (everybody knows this) but my guess is that if a fix ever gets made, it will have to "hack" the dashboard in some way...

i think MS collected the data of modified consoles before spring update.
now they have enough consoles and begin the ban process.
If you are not banned you are not collected before by MS. That's why so many different modified consoles are banned and not banned and there is no clear banning strategy.

Played 'leaked' Crackdown but waited for official release(injected with stealth files)
Didn't touch Halo 3 Beta.
I stayed with 3.3 becuase I didnt want to change to a ms28 based firmware. (if my drive was MS28 I would have updated my f/w)

Not sure about this but I believe that the 5.3c is at core a MS28. If you are using it on a MS25, this could be considdered spoofed. |

Hitachi 47 / banned/ The xboxlive account was registered to Hong Kong but the console is in the UK / previous garyopa firmware before the jitter / played H3 beta on copied crackdown.
although i dont think it has anything to do with halo just the fact its a copy

reflashed about 1month ago to 2.3 (had 1.3 prior)

samsung ms28 flashed with 5.3A AFTER spring update, no other hacked fw before (since it was a replaced console arrived at the same time of dashboard update).
I only used a crackdown backup to dl the halo3 beta (played three times).
NOT BANNED yet! Now I keep the ethernet cable disconnected...

ever since i herd about the ban i unplugged my 360 and havent touched it. but last time i was online it was perfectly fine.

Firmware Details:
- ModeB when poweron with tray open
- Media Detection V2
- Xtreme 800 to load backups
- No F900 core, maybe later
- No Firmware Stealth (maybe not needed anymore with this one)
Last Test: ALL Works Fine on XBOX Live!
My opinion: Firmware Stealth in other/newer firmware's are the cause of the Live Bans!!
And no Hitachi78FK(FW1.6) Seems to be reported as been banned so!?

Flashed BEFORE the spring update.
Also, I flashed to v4.1 BEFORE even turning on the 360 for the first time.
NOT Banned (yet)
I've played just about every game, scene release or non scene release. I've never played any PAL games, and I've not played any pre-release games.
Last Test: ALL Works Fine on XBOX Live!
Forgive me if I am in the dark, but I don't remember ever reading that the firmware blocked reading the disc manufacture ID. Couldn't MS just read this and tell that it was a backup disc?
Loading up DVDInfo, a backup game reads "ritek" and an original reads as "pressed"
Why couldn't MS read this too? Like I said, maybe the firmware already covered this, but I don't recall reading anything about it.

-Logged on today May 18th at 2:10PM EST, logged on for about 2mins.. while I came up to talk to my friend to tell him I was not banned, I looked at my tv from a distance and saw "Connect to Xbox live" , check the status and I'm banned.

Loggined yesterday at 5PM EST, logged into XBL ok, updated to the spring patch, my hitachi was patched prior to updating with the latest Xtreme 2.4 FW
Drive: Hitachi 47DJ
FW: C4E Xtreme 2.4 Stealth (updated prior to getting spring patch)
Status: banned
Connection: Wired
- Was logged and downloading Forza demo until my friend called me and told me he was banned, I then logged off, disconnect my ethernet cable and haven't been back on to check my status.

Status: He attempted to connect using his wireless adapter, and as soon as he went to login to XBL, he was banned instantly, he didn't even get a chance to connect competely or download the spring update.
We've both been offline since the spring update was released.

Sorry to post again just thought i'd let you know that i've spoken to more people and they have xbox's with newer manufacturing dates than March 06 (which is what mine and my girlfriends is and they've both been banned) and they're still able to get on Xbox Live without a problem. Please can people start putting in the manufacturing dates of their consoles just to see if there is any relation??[/color] |
