I just rubber-fixed my 360, and everything works fine. Except that the fans are much louder, which means the console gets pretty hot.
Could this be the rubbers fault? If I remove them, the chance of another 3RLOD is pretty high  Embarrassed

Maybe somebody here can help Smiley

Allright, my 360 is working again. The overheating was caused by the x-clamps, since they had no real contact with the metal-cage Smiley
Used this tutorial. But actually, 4mm is way too thick and causes the overheating error. I used 2mm or so Smiley Working fine.

they still get way too hot either way. MS does NOT use "rubber", they use actual heat transfer pads.

I do NOT give support by email, PM, ICQ or whatever. Anyone annoying me that way will have his balls removed. With a rusty butterknife. Slowly. And I'll enjoy doing it.

MS thermal pads go soft and gooey. Maybe rubber eraser stays firm enough to push against the ram chips to make good enough contact??? It must do somthing coz Ive had really good success so far. 5 machines fixed 1 month ago and they still not back. When they come back with same prob I will post to say that this is another dead end. But for now my customers are very happy Smiley
