Considering the SH-D162C, but will it last?

Alright, i'm considering buying a Samsung SH-D162C, so i can backup my games. My question though, is if Microsoft releases a patch tomorrow that blocks current firmware from playing backup games, then what? I just dropped 50$ on the drive and now it's totally useless to me. Is that something that i'm going to have to worry about happening soon?

I wouldn't worry about that kind of thing, besides if it does happen someone will come up with a way to play burnt games again - if not (highly doubt it) flash the PC drive with the original PC firmware so it's a normal drive again (i.e it dosen't read Xbox Games).

I guess i wasn't thinking when i first posted... but i don't play live (or very rarely do), so it's kind of pointless NOT to get one if i'm not going to have to get any update that microsoft will force you to use anyways.  ( <--- that's the 'i'm a retard for not thinking before i posted', smiley)

Alright, so i quit being a jewish sailor... bought the drive, found a way around my IRC problem and flashed the drive with the firmware that i downloaded.

I successfully backed up a 360 game!!!!! (yea... it WAS legal)
