what method are you using? hotswap or unlocker? i heard that someone changed it to f9fa01 on the ss of the game and it worked for them with that ss iso patching tool so if u got a dl laying around try it..

i would reccomend this:
1.raw dump game with unlocker not hotswap
2.get the ss for the game
3.download arakons package and run the .bat
4.burn it with clonecd

i was using hotswap and was almost content with it, however i took your advice to try the unlock method and am having a problem. When i run the TS's unlocker v.1 it freezes after the first two blocks of info are returned..  Lips Sealed

Is there any alternative to unlocking my drive. I've tried everything and TS unlocker freezes. Ideas anyone?

The unlocker will only work with original non hacked firmware, otherwise it will freeze...

Yeah it might just be the SS fimware that locks it up. Either way it fixed the problem for me and a few others to flash it with the original firmware. Who knows how many bugs there could be in the hacked firmware. It might be a good idea to use orignal firmware to dump the game, many things could go wrong when using a very beta firmware hack..

crap.. my third try, yet first try using bluecop's method. I've got to be missing something so noobish.. I did just as bluecop said, the file sizes were exactly the same, etc. Does anyone have any idea of could be going on here? I won't be trying with anymore dual layers until i find out where my head is

Edit: Well WTF, is something wrong with fujifilm dvds or what ? I can't figure it out

no, the xbox doesn't read any video
Using both methods both times I was sure i had it. yes using +r . The xbox doesn't give me an error with the original hard drive. When i put the softmodded drive in it reads 'busy' in XBMC. Then in DVD2xbOX it reads as a music cd. but no music is ripped when tried

Put the dvd in your pc, if the dvd is good you should atleast see the xbox movie part.

Probley the cheap dvd's because the xbox should read the video partition atleast. Check in xbmc under myfiles and try to open the dvd drive. Click it even if it says busy. If nothing shows then i would get some new dvds.

Edit: you can also check your game dump iso by opening it in xiso, the file you named game.iso in bluecops meathod.

Ya I would say without a doubt its the cheap media or weak burner. I remeber back in the day with the gamecube i got some of those cheap fujifilm dvd's and they never read and some wouldn't even burn. I have always had good luck with memorex but still haven't got the 40 bucks to try them out, just to expensive for my blood. RIDatas did work for me, but very porly. I had to reboot as many as 10 times to get it to spin up and read correctly... Someone should start a topic on what brand of dvd dl's they used and worked.

Ok, i can confirm everything on the disk i burnt (game.iso) is on the original using xiso. You  must be right about the media type smurf. Can anyone verify Fujifilm Dual Layer dvds from Best Buy 15 pack for 30 dolla DON'T WORK ?? ??

Im also using an internal Lite-on Burner inside an external enclosure.
isobuster to rip

Edit: What does the xbox do if only the SS is misplaced? Bad disk error? no error??

did the disk booktype get set to dvd-rom? also, check the media code of the disks, so people know what types may not work.

the samsung drive will not read +r unless the booktype is set to dvd-rom.. nero should usually give you an option to do it, if your burner supports it.
not sure about clonecd, though.
