Redline:
I'm not sure what changed or when this happened. But one day I stopped being able to rip backups off original retail discs, using my Kreon SATA drive and XboxBackup Creator v2.8.   I can rip backup discs using the Kreon drive and v2.8 just fine.  But retail discs - in the info at the bottom of the window where it tells you about the disc in the drive  - in stead of showing up as a 360 game and the appropriate 7+ gig size, it shows up as being the DVD-ROM with a size of 5.23 mb (I think ? I'm not at that PC right now).

So it's like Backup Creator is only seeing the DVD video portion of the disc. If I rip the disc it only grabs a 5 mb rip.

Again ripping backup discs using the same setup, works fine!?

Also, I can rip originals using this same drive and computer, using the latest version of Schtrom -  and it works just fine! So for the last month or two I've been making backups using Schtrom, and burning using your software.

Any idea what is making this not work?  Any other info you need?

hehe  figures!

Really I don't have an answer but I'll try and think about it.  This is a good example why schtrom and I have kept our apps separate. We collaborate extensively though and I'm glad his works for you. Smiley

Redline99, as always, thank you VERY much for XBC. I have a few requests:

1) Option to run "Kreon Checker" type check on the SS as a disc is being ripped, and re-rip SS if rip is bad
2) Option to access Mulleter DB and submit and check the disc in XBC as the rip occurs.
3) Option to enable bit setting in XBC

Great, tool. I hope it keeps getting better!

Protonus, have you tried unlocking the drive prior to trying your rip? I didn't used to have to do this, but recently, I found it necessary before it would do a complete rip of an original.

I don't know if its needed, but as far as I know it doesnt hurt and it should be easy to do

Understood, but it would only be an option, and much easier then launching a second app for my lazy ass.

3. I tried but there is more work involved than its worth.

That's unfortunate as it would make a very nice addition to the program

Also, I want to re-request displaying the name of the ISO that is loaded when burning.

Thanks again.

How do you do the unlock you're reccomending? I'll give it a shot.

Witwolfy  - Thank you Smiley   you should also check out Schtrom's app, it's quite nice too Smiley

Protonus  - There is a button on the Drive Tools tab to unlock the drive, extracting the SS will also unlock it.  Dont know why "But one day I stopped being able to rip backups off original retail discs, using my Kreon SATA drive and XboxBackup Creator v2.8" is an issue. Can you provide a log and game title?

what steps are you taking? are you manually getting the SS before ripping?
Because the act of getting the SS automatically unlocks the disc.  Make sure you rip before doing anything else.

Yes, I´m ripping the SS and then the size of the game is unlocked(see the image).
The games are PES2008 and Fallout3. Retail games PAL. The option is full backup.

Thanks for the answer and excuse my english. Huh
