What I would like to know is how (once I have created the Backup from my original ) I can check its SS/DMI/PFI and CRCs for all information against my own original to ensure that the values are the same for my ISO and original game. Sorry if this is somewhere else, but could not find it.

Im unclear, is work ongoing for a new XBC because of the recent bans and the "bad" rips? I know 1.4 fixes these problems, but I would like to have the problem fixed at the rip if possible.

v2.7 Build 0265 Burned to verbatim dl Used the XBC burn engine Burned SS not the same as image SS Both check as good with kreon checker
Should the SS always be the same in a burned game as the image? I would think so. Is this a bad burn? No errors were reported.

Just burned another game and same exact problem as above where the SS does not match the image. A reply to let me know if this is a problem would be greatly appreciated. I cannot test my games right now thanks to RRoD :-(

Problem found. Extracting the SS in the 111D gives a different SS (which is also why the verify after write always fails). Placing the same disc in the D162C gives a match to the original SS.

yes and no...physically it's possible but the hacked firmware allowing you to play back ups...does not boot single layer back-ups

wow, still no announcement of 2.8 here? I was really hoping to see kreon checker features added to 2.8, and it sounds like there may be a need for sum mulleter features as some SS that pass the stealthcheck and the kreon checker are not correct, such as Mass Effect?

He could use the non iXtreme firmware to play single layer xbox backups. Check the 360 games with mulleter before going on Live though.

Redline99, firstly, top app mate, good to see such an easy to use app.
I was wondering, where do you get your knowledge on such a topic. Like, is there a technical resource which explains how the Kreon firmware works and how did you get the knowledge to write XBC to interface with the Kreon firmware. I'm stumped at how knowledgeable you are!

Check the 360 games with mulleter before going on Live though. many games that work fine as DVD9 don't work well or at all as DVD5, though.. quite a few crash during gameplay or after the title screen.. the dvd5 support was never cleaned up.

I do NOT give support by email, PM, ICQ or whatever. Anyone annoying me that way will have his balls removed. With a rusty butterknife. Slowly. And I'll enjoy doing it.

hehe thanks, but really that gives me too much credit. Grab some specs too read INF-8090, mmc5rxx, ECMA-337, and maybe a few others.. You don't need to know everything in them but you will need them for references. On windows you will also need to understand how to use DeviceIoControl function. Once you get some basics down there are people here that are willing to help quite a bit, but you have to get somewhat competent on your own first. Once you get the basics down then interfacing with kreon or c4e is pretty easy.

I've seen an update to XbC at the following website http://konsolenprofis.de/downloads/download.php?id=1499Is this a legitimate version? ie is there a version 2.8 available, as I haven't been able to get a working copy of any of my backups using: - XBC v2.5 Build0230 - Verbatim DVD+R DL media - Kreon flashed SH-D162C TS05 - Philips DVD+-RW DVD8801 2D03 - ImgBurn 2.4.1.0 I can back up games (ie creates .ISO @ 7,395,392KB and .DVD @ 1KB) to the HDD without changing any settings, seems to work fine. Also, burning works fine using ImgBurn, but when I chuck them into my Xbox360 Elite I get the "Please insert this disc into an Xbox360 machine...." or something like that. I am hoping the upgrade will do the trick, and want to make sure I've got the most up-to-date version of XBC. Many thanks, Forkie.
