I have :
- VIA 6421 card - MSI 945GM3 Mother-board - MS-7267 (V3.X) Main-board - Intel 945G Express Chipset Based - Intel Core 2 Duo
I have tried to get the firmware off my BenQ for many hours, if anyone can tell me if my hardware will work with this or not that would be great.
However if my hardware will not work, can somebody please give me the Exact name of a good motherboard that will work. Thanks.

Hi everyone. So far I've been able to get my BenQ recognized using DosFlash16 auto v1.3 on my Nforce 550/570/590 Sata Controller. I haven't done any read/write/erase commands in DosFlash yet because of two reasons... a. I don't know for sure what my starting SATA port address is. I have 3 on board SATA controllers with 2 SATA inputs on each and 1 e-Sata input. Is it just the first one in the list under I/O? The readme says "0970" for Nvidia boards. My computer shows "0960" as the first in the list and DosFlash reports "09F0" as first in the list. Plus, DosFlash reads my BenQ as "B800"?? Any ideas? Here is a pic of my MSinfo32 results... Here is a pic of my DosFlash results... (I blacked out a few things, pay it no mind) b. What are the functions of each please... Just couldn't find it clearly defined anywhere. I usually just flash Sammy's and Hitachi's, never used DosFlash before. "DosFlash r" "DosFlash w" "DosFlash e" Thanks a ton everyone. Up until I read this topic, I thought I was doomed with a stock drive.!!! P.S. (Just so others know, the DosFlash32 method would freeze up on me like some others who have posted. Your best bet is to use the bootable USB method if you have my chipset.) Used iPrep to make the bootable USB device. Wasn't even a flash drive. I used a Memory Stick with camera mate adapter. Link for iPrep USB bootable drive method.

MoBo - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813188013 ******* Stay the F@$# away from corsair memory with this board to avoid nightmarish experience... Processor - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819115026Running XP MCE w/SP2b WOW!!! This was amazingly smooth experience! 10 min Process, Double click dosFlash, 360 fwtb 4.5 and I'm and rolling with my sammy looking like a benny. Fully tested several backups.... Man I can't wait for the release of the iExtreme for the benny ...(sooo quiet, probably even more so with a "quiet-drive" version of the firm"). This Schtrom tool is absolute genius!! Works Like a charm... even one step updated my Kreon. BTW - no iPrep...or booting need ....smoooth as a freshly shaved HOO ha PS I thought the program was hanging up on me too.. but after letting it run for 1 - 1/2 min program popped up even though no mem consumption was being reported... also enjoyed the "click yes, then power down 360, and turn it back on... BINGO!! 10 of 10 tries were a sucess, it showed up every time, testing BenQ, Sammy MS25, and Kreon SD-H163A....sheer genius, sheer genius!

Got it to work first time using windows xp, Gigabyte GA-8I945GZ motherboard and the Via 6421L addin card. I used dosflash32 and followed the instructions in the readme exactly and dumped the firmware twice. Worked like a charm Compared both flashes using windiff and check the key's in FW Toolbox and they are identical. Now just need iXtreme for benq and im set.
PS: I did not install the via drivers for the addin card in windows if that makes a difference.

I do NOT give support by email, PM, ICQ or whatever. Anyone annoying me that way will have his balls removed. With a rusty butterknife. Slowly. And I'll enjoy doing it.
