No, the SS extracted with commodore4eva firm is a standard one (ie: just the sector data)
how did you confirm this? easily, comparing between a SS extracted with commodore4eva firm and the data at @PSN 0xFD021E, and was exactly the same ok well how did you extract PSN 0xFD021E? this is the point of me asking the previous question.

I have one question, I have all of the answers for my previous questions to myself. Will this FW (commodore), have an effect on my Xbox Live usage? I am currently playing originals on the FW, until I recieve my DL DVD burner. Are originals undetectable? Or is the firmware itself detected on Xbox Live? I would assume that backups and originals would both be detected under Xbox Live because they both have the security. Thanks.

no, it's totally invisible to the xbox...and therefor no major threat to xbox live...you'll be able to play without any problems

i would have to disagree here... seems to me that if the drives can be flashed via software, they could easily be hashed and detected... espically if the hack is applied in its orignal form... but thats just my .02. just keep it real on live, cheaters suck anyway.

how the hell are you going to cheat on xbl?
1) the game won't work if the xbe is modified 2) you need your _own_ SS to make a working copy 3) and how will they update it? if they'd update it, they'd update every other sd605 or even thomson/philips aswell, which would be really pointless

when people say kill your drive what do they mean exactly... kill it and need an external way of flashing the firmware rather then connecitng it to your pc or... kill it forever... also what tools did the masters of this firmware hack use to make these.. like hex editors asm readers or whaever you call them hardware data sheets etc.

i guess they mean that it'll have to be flashed externally... but the way i see it, it's not really being "killed" because i flashed a wrong image one time, then arakon told me the correct parameters and i reflashed it and now it works great commodore4eva used a disassembler i guess (not sure if anyone of us can remember the opcodes in hex values )

yep, external flashing will still work, but most people won't have the means to desolder, flash and resolder the chip. some drives have a safety measure built in that will still allow flashing even with a bad bios, but not all.

I don't think they will update the drive but they might ban you from xbl.

i would change my drive inquiry command to another drives model. perhaps that would offer some protection to any counter-measure they bring.
have all the samsung debug commands understood? there could be something that hasn't been identified that does some checking for live.

Okay one last question. Sorry about all of these questions guys. I already have the hacked FW installed on my SDG605B, when I flashed the FW I noticed when it was complete and said restart computer, the Xbox had powered off, does this happen automatically? Alright, so to make a perfect working backup all I do is follow BlueCop's methods but use Arakon's updated method of his? So, this is what I do; plug in my drive to my PC, dump the game etc, then reflash the drive using the SS dumper FW, then dump the SS from the game, then reflash drive with hacked FW, then finish his steps into completing the iso, and burn the backup. Will this backup I make for the first time work, and is this the procedure of backing up each game?

hmm, this being a technical forum and all, i will reply and not be quite as nasty toward you... 1) .map files can be resigned (halo 2) with extensive mods and maintain their original signature 2) better do a bit more reading 3) they wont update your drive, they will simply ban you , which is the original question that was asked if you live in the jaded world where you believe that microsoft cannot poll the dvd drive and see specific bytes in specific sectors, i must say you are severely mistaken... however, once the check that microsoft uses is identified, it could be defeated.

I am currently dumping a Xbox game right now, my Xbox is flashing red/green while it's dumping. I am currently at 9% complete.
