How to test this, step by step please? and particular how to identify and insert the SS data to ISO backup?
Thanks
you need an unlocked drive to read out the SS, but commodore4eva has included the SS for some popular games... to insert the SS, you can find old tools that were meant for dreamcast isos which can be used what tools are them uberfly, i will have a go.Do i patch the isos or the firmware? I will do it as soon as i get some answers

If I find the time, I'll take a look at it this evening. Can you boot originals using this firmware ?
Sure =) Just assume everything in readme isn't a lie =))

I took a look at it last night before bed. Didn't have a chance to go to much great length, but it looks VERY feasible. I've got a test in neuropsych in a little while but when I get home later I'll see if anyone has a samsung drive laying around. The best test is a full blown test.

It's good to see others working on the Toshiba / Samsung drive. But why doesn't the author join the technical discussions on these forums? This release could work, but I don't want to invest time and a DL disc especially after a statement made in the prevous (V1) release which everyone seems to forget .. Works with all 1:1 (minus the obvious stuff) backups of XBOX 1 discs.
When in reality that statement was a piece of BS .. But if it works this time around, nice work.

its software flashable? so if you softmodded your xbox with linux, would it be possible to software flash this from within linux without opening the case? that would be neat

I just finished flashing up my Samsung. Originals in fact still work. I don't have a D/L burner at the moment to verify backups.

You can surmise that originals would still boot with this info, but not the Backups. If you have an original MS bios you can flash to your modchip, that would help to prove the backups as long as you put the SS and table in the right location in the DVD FW. I *think* my friend has a spare Sammy laying around, I'll call him when I get home from class later. If so, I can boot to the original MS bios on my xb1 and test it.

Looking for the same info as this guy. I have 3 DL discs here and need to know what to do with the bins. As far as i understand, i have to open the iso in a hex editor and goto the end of the game data, do i then copy the bytes from the bin into the dummy space. Someone spoke earlier of a Dreamcast iso app the had an iject function. Could you give us the name, or if possible a link? Apart from that i have everything setup and ready to test.

made an ISO using the drive unlocker + isobuster, iso contains the "XBOX*MEDIA*" part at least, so I figure the data should be ok.. however the burnt image is completely unreadable, in any drive.. any other decent ways to getting a RAW image, without disassembling my PC DVD drive?

Lol Dreamcast utils for that dreamcast utils were for make two sessions discs, not for add data, ppfomatic canīt add data, just replace, add the sectors to the iso is really really easy open a msdos prompt in windows and type copy /b halo2.iso + halo2sector.bin final.iso and u have the security sector at the end of the iso , if some1 tells me how to make the proper iso with clone cd i will try the firmware , i have the samsung reader dl discs and pal version of halo2

Serie, you dont add to end, you replace a certain address ($f9fa00), not necessarily the end as far as i know

Security sector now read from PSN $fd021e (originals) AND PSN $f9fa00 (backups. This is the next sector after end of xbox game data.)
dosenīt means this that the security sector must be at the end of the iso ?
