$f9fa00 is phisical sector number, each sector is 0x800 byte (2048 decimal). You have to know the last phisical sector of your "big dvd" (use dvdinfo), let's say for example FC0000, then FC0000-F9FA00=20600. 20600x800=10300000, this should be (in hex) the "backward" distance of PSN F9FA00 from the end of your hexedited iso, sector plus or sector minus

Lol Dreamcast utils for that dreamcast utils were for make two sessions discs, not for add data, ppfomatic canīt add data, just replace, add the sectors to the iso is really really easy open a msdos prompt in windows and type copy /b halo2.iso + halo2sector.bin final.iso and u have the security sector at the end of the iso , if some1 tells me how to make the proper iso with clone cd i will try the firmware , i have the samsung reader dl discs and pal version of halo2 haha "that guy" was less wrong than you are

dvdinfopro gives me "Data area end sector 3905D0h", which can't be right for a 7.13 gig disk.

To those who are testing this firmware. Could you post the oringal bios revisions you are trying this with. I am just curious if it works with all bios revisions. i guess its highly unlikely since the drives are compatible accross revisions.
I am also confused about patching the SS into the iso. if someone wouldn't mind explaining how to calculate the offset in the iso.
also is the hot swap neccessary? like could you rip the Vid part of the disc and then unlock the drive and rip the game part. Would it be possible to combine these to make it like a hot swap raw image?
I got my Halo 2 Security Sector using robinsod TS-943A firmware patch on the forum.
I riped my game partition and the vid partition from the orginal samsung dvd drive. I unlocked with TheSpecialist unlocker tool.
I will rip a hot swap with another dirve and compare with the other images. maybe i can answer myself.

I'm quite sure this is a fake. The security sectors don't contain a 'manually crafted' table with responses (I checked for Halo 1, the response data was NOT in the SS). He could have rescrambled the table instead of using a complete new table, but only $80 bytes differ in the SS, so this is also not the case. Furthermore, there are a lot of weird things in the FW ... Where is your pointer to 0Xf9fa00 for example ? And where did you kill the check for the CPR_MAI ?

In dvdinfopro look a bit under and you'll see something like this:
Complete Media Code 00000000 08 02 00 00 01 0F 32 10 00 03 00 00 00 FC 94 6F ......2........o 00000010 00 1A 90 AF 00 00 00 52 49 54 45 4B 00 00 00 44 .......RITEK...D 00000020 30 31 01 40 25 25 37 0C 00 28 64 00 28 64 20 1F 01.@%%7..(d.(d . 00000030 0C 0C 14 14 02 01 01 20 00 20 1F 0C 0C 14 14 02 ....... . ......

ok i have tried the swaping dvds method of ripping and each time it has stalled out at 54% and won't go any further. i used 2 different drives. it is a halo 2 disc in perfect condition.
i was able to rip the video and game parts no problem with the Orginal xbox 1 samsung
can anyone confirm this as fake or real? i see a few posts on both sides but no confirmation from people who care to explain the exact process they went through to get this to boot a backup.

Extra debug cdb command found to unlock drive without any challenge response (FF 08 01) does that mean that he doesnt need the security sector?

elitedev: no
It means you can unlock the drive with a pc without doing the challenge response with the drive. like TheSpecialist unlocker app.

i did some comparing and searching in winhex with a hot swaped disc and my orginal dump of vid and game parts.
the video partition is located at the very begining up the disc and is the same as the iso from 0x00-0xDA77FF there is another sector on the one i dumped from the orginal drive. 7FF at the end of video part that isn't the same as on the raw disc.
then it is 00's till 18300000 where the game partition begins. i couldn't do a full compare on the game parition because my drive craps out reading past a certain point on the disc.
I am going to try to make an image that uses my dumps of the video and game parition at those offsets and hope it will have the same results as the hotswap raw game dump.

aside from all the techy stuff....the guy isnt the most trustworthy on here (only posts hes done have been promises and fakes i think) and for someone whos worked so hard on this...wouldnt they just give some decent instructions? I mean he made the effort to post this crack and then goes silent again? my personal opinion is his reading the board and having a giggle. the crack post + vague instructions aint working for me...expect a post next month from this dude with a lot of foreplay but no ejaculation... i guess i could of used a better scenario

@Sniperkil: I did manage to get a proper hotswap, however I am pretty sure wxripper will crap out on the layer breakpoint. I used ultraiso to make the ISO file.

@Geremia:
assuming my end sector of the swap DVD is FBA450, then PSN F9FA00 is at 1badc07ff, right?
going by the constant lack of detailed information, I'm starting to think this is fake too. two guys with almost no postings pop up and claim they got it working, and when people start asking questions, they go silent.. sounds to me like they haven't actually done anything.
