after doing a raw dump, do I have to adjust the layer break to the one you mentioned, geremia, or does it differ between xbox 1 disks? also, should the raw dump be viewable (video partition) when mounted i.e. in alcohol's virtual drive?

Locked the hd and flashed my TSOP with original 5101 bios.
again, IT WORKS
with original drive fw this backup is just seen as dvd video, because the SS is missing.

@elitedev: what did you dump your disk with, and what modifications did you make? I can't afford to waste a ton of DL blanks either, and am down to two, so I'd rather get it right on the next try. some basic step by step info would be useful to all I think.

I suppose all xbox1 disks have the same physical layout, but i can be wrong because i only have AUF your raw dump have the phisical layout of your big dvd, and must be burned with the same layout of your big dvd, not matter what is the layout of the xbox game partition, it's all inside, and is pointed by the samsung drive using the first bytes of the SS for example the first byte of SS of AUF (and maybe all other games): 00000000 D1 0F 31 10 00 06 06 00 00 F9 F9 FF 00 20 33 AF ..1.......... 3. first sector: 60600 layerbreak: 2033AF last sector: F9F9FF The big dvd must have layerbreak and last sector value bigger *edit* thankx thespecialist for pointing the mistake

@ Geremia: Yes, xbox 1 dvd's all have the same layout. Start sector is 60600, not 60000 by the way (the adress starts one byte earlier , 06 06 00 instead of 60 00 00 )

i had made a dvd with dummy data that is 8.5gb and hotswapped with halo and used the same method to dump the raw data as geremia used. used the same math and patched the ss in with hex workshop 3.1 and used nero to burn.

so has anyone tried with a security sector they dump from the their game themselves. I am not a PAL user. I manually patched together an image with the video part and game part dumped from my orginal drive(before and after unlock). I placed the video at offset 0000 and then the game part at 18300000. I then filled the rest of the image with the SS repeating till the end of the DL Disc because at the time i couldn't calculate the correct offset. It only played the video. I found out that my image i dumped with CloneCD of the game part was currupt though. I will try to get another drive to do a proper hotswap but i have tried 2 and both failed at 54%. What model drives have people successfully hotswaped with?
TheSpecialist: what differs in the SS. i compared his PAL Halo2 SS to my NTSC Halo 2 SS and they differ from 5DF-7FF. Have you found a way to do the same modification to the SS that he has done? another person provided me his halo 2 security sector he says is from a NTCS copy and it differs greatly from both the other PAL and NTSC i have.

That doesn't change the fact that i don't have the PAL copy of the disc to dump. the SS is tried to the XBE.
