what's goin on ppl?!
I'm pretty sure the problem is with the modified.bin. Per the tutorial, using KDX 1.5, I copy the dvd key from orig.bin and paste it into xtreme.bin, and save as modified.bin. I'm I right so far?
Then I go through the motion of creating a backup of my game. Finally, I flash the dvd drive w/ modified.bin, and reboot xbox360. When I insert the original, I get "to play this disc, put it in an xbox360 console." When I put the backup, it says "unrecognized.
However when I flash dvd w/ orig.bin, the original plays fine, but the backup still says "unrecognized."
Power of deduction leads me to modified.bin as the culprit. I made sure the dvd key of the modified.bin is the same as orig.bin. Can someone please tell me what now? Could someone email me a version of xtreme.bin that is working for them? Thanks!

KDX is not accurate as far as inserting the correct key. In half the scenario's it works, sometimes not. You have to patch it before using the program.
I suggest manually entering the key using a hex editor. There are tutorial's out there (I think?). No, someone cannot send you a xtreme.bin, because you need YOUR dvd key inserted in there.
Quite frankly, someone needs to just make a program that actually works at inserting the key correctly.

Irez what do you mean by "patch it before using the program?" How do you patch and with what program? Oh and I followed Sniperkilla's hexworkshop method but it still didn't work. I'm sure I"m going wrong somewhere. Can you tell me exactly what you did to get the modified.bin? Thanks KDX is not accurate as far as inserting the correct key. ive had a message like that from burning a bad iso (incorrectly patched), so it might not be related to your firmware

Ok guys i got it working! Yeahhhhhhhhhh Basically instaed of using Hexworkshop I used XVI32 to do the hex edit manually. I'm not sure but I followed the instructions to the letter for using Hexworkship but that didn't work. Anyway as we speak I've got my original safely tucked away while I play using the backup. Everyone who worked on getting this awesome firmare out, aka Commodore, and people who replied to my postings, mucho graicas!

I had the same exact problem, I burned like 9 DL dvds and each one got either "Unrecognised" or a video with the text "to play this disc, put it in an xbox360 console.". But I tried that mayorg did, and it worked too! I originally used KDX v1.5 to modify the xtreme firmware with my dvd key but apparently it did not work as when I manually did it, it worked like a charm. Phew, btw thanks mayorg, I had been stressing with this problem for the last days now, thinking it was my burns or something else, guess I relied too much on KDX

Ah oki, I guess it should be specified in KDX, or the xbox360 firmware tutorial etc, as many people could make this mistake, as that one only says "select the hacked firmware (XTREME.BIN or possibly XTREME_PROPER.BIN). It must be a patched version of the original hacked firmware.".

Hello Dolly Dimples did reflashing the firmware make the 9 discs that you burned work ?
I have the same issues as you about 10 coasters and counting now.
Cheers

eyy philb, yup, all of the 9 burns worked fine when the firmware was correctly patched My images were correctly SS patched though. Well actually, one of them was an unsuccessfull burn (tried to burn it with DVD Decryptor instead of CloneCD, and DVD Decryptor crashed midways in the burning), and another one was a game that was region locked to NTSC and me having a PAL system, but the DVD itself seemed to work it just wouldnt start cus of the region, but I kinda knew it wouldn't work as I saw it on the list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Region_Free_Xbox_360_Games

Dimples you welcome. I was happy when I finally decided to try a different software to do the same. And I didn't realize that to use KDX 1.5 you need a patched version. Anyway, I'm now waiting for PS3 to come out and see the hacking community work on getting hacked firmware for that I had the same exact problem, I burned like 9 DL dvds and each one got either "Unrecognised" or a video with the text "to play this disc, put it in an xbox360 console.". Hi Guys
I am having the same problem with the "to play this disc, put it in an xbox360 console" after flashing my DVD with my modified firmware made with KDX 1.5.
I have downloaded and installed the XVI32 Hex editor and loaded my ORIG.BIN firmware but i am a little lost when performing the GOTO 4000 command. Below are my steps.
1: load up XVI32 2: Open my ORIG.BIN ( see the data on the screen ) 3: Click on Address 4: Click on GOTO 5: In the GOTO address box my options are as follows GOTO= Hexadecimal GO MODE = Absolute in the search bar I type 4000 and click on OK 6: The first line that is highlighted begins with 3FF3 and not 4000 is this correct?
Many thanks

If you are confused about the Go To command then don't use it. Simply scroll down to $4000 to get your key. The Go To command is not necessary its only a convenience.

The Go To command is not necessary its only a convenience. nope if i scroll down the bin file looking at the number on the left it goes from 3FF3 and then to 4026 I have used UltraEdit now so hopefully it will work... Thanks mate KiloHurtz
