While there is no way to tell yet, I was interested in everyone's personal feelings or thoughts on this.
Is it possible that the 360 will never be hacked like the xb1 is? Or is it kinda just like "a matter of time" thing?

I don't think it'll come that fast as most of the mod chip-creation effort comes from people who want to sell pirated software, and as they are able to do that now - why should they bother about hacking the xBox totally? I hope that that will happen soon (as i want to play imported Games), but personally i don't think so.

You could dive for the llaaaaaaaaalalaaaaa, non reality-based answers most people vaguely give through cliche terms. "matter of time" or whatever But really, you can bet it's not going to play out hopefully like this phrase is used to suggest. A matter of time could be 20 years. Reality, and how it is unfolding, is as important as optimism.

I don't believe thats fully true, now maybe i am just an optimist, but I like to believe that the hacker community still does things just because of the challenge and learning something new in the process not the "out to make money" only type of attitude. I know when I become interested in something I like to "see if i can" and try to take that attitude more than "how can i make money off this" maybe thats just me however. As for the 360 being hacked I believe that it will, like most things come with time. Nothing was created over right, and most projects take time but I am sure it will happen.

"maybe i am just an optimist" Exactly. Just an optimist. Why even respond with no real insight to contribute? Added nothing but your emotional hope with no technicals to back it up. When all your input on this very technical problem comes down to speculation on attitudes with no consideration of the actual challenges/chances Your "outlook on this" contributes NOTHING about the chances. Seriously, I'm not being hard on you but, what was the point?

my point was, that nothing is uncrackable given enough time. As for the other stuff I said I was responding to someone saying its not going to be hacked cause its money driven mod chip manufactures that want to push pirated software that drive console hacking advancement and they have no need anymore as you can already play backups.
If you want proof that it will come with time just go read the kernel hacking forums and look at what they have done thus far.

The main thing to hack is to Region Lock. If this thing is hacked then it will be like freedom.. i guess but the question is it going to be hacked or not?

region hack will not be possible until unsigned code is also hacked. so it's all or nothing.

CPS3 is an arcade system that is not overly popular, though. there's not much of a public interest in that, hence a lot less people working on it.

There are three main groups which want to see the 360 hacked: linux, homebrew and "backup".
The "backup" group have a solution based on modified DVD firmware, though MS could shut them down when they want. I predict a kernel upgrade which locks systems with modified DVD drives as a requirement for a major title release (Halo 3?) They may rejoin the effort at some point.
The homebrew group have been thrown a bone with the XNA release, though it remains to be seen how successful it is. MS gets $400-$500 over the life of the console from everyone that wants to run homebrew, so I think this is a crappy deal.
The Linux group got the PS3 with Sony actively supporting Linux, so I don't know how excited they are with hacking the 360 anymore. My interest has certainly wained. The PS3's free online play is a bigger timesink than I expected as well.
Finally, there are the puzzle solvers. They will continue working on it for the mental challenge. How long they persist will ultimately determine the final status of the hack. People graduate, get married, change jobs, have kids, and all the other things that take time until there is none left, and the next generation loses interest in the old hardware and the hacking will slowly wind down.
Hopefully, when the 360 isn't commercially viable, MS will release the information required to support Linux and the console will live again.

Well, I'll bet that if the development kit for 360 leaks out again tons of people will jump on it.

especially since releasing that information would automatically put their next system at a risk, and possibly even others similar to it.. in that case they'd get sued to hell by any company that got their protection scheme cracked cause of it.
