I have a launch 360 with a modded Hitachi (I think a 47). It died last week, heat gun/toothpick/towel tricks didn't work.

So I bought a new one. This one has a Hitachi 78. Naturally I have the SIL SATA card, so I can't flash it.

Is there any way to flash the 47 and swap it into the new 360? I don't suppose so, since I can't get a dump from the 78 to get the key, but figured it was worth asking. Otherwise, I suppose my only options are to get a new SATA card or wait for someone to add SIL support to the Toolbox.

the SIL chipset only has issues with samsung drives and should work with the hitachi.

I do NOT give support by email, PM, ICQ or whatever. Anyone annoying me that way will have his balls removed. With a rusty butterknife. Slowly. And I'll enjoy doing it.

^^ true but some people say that for 78's you can dump the firmware if your lucky with a SIL but generally you get errors in FW toolbox and can't flash the drive, that's what I have heard anyway

Thanks. SIL definitely doesn't work with Hitach 78s, I tried every driver ever released for the card. All give bad dumps in Toolbox, checksum doesn't match and it gets a different key everytime. I guess I'll wait and hope someone updates the Toolbox to support SIL cards.
