Hi guys, I am a newbie on this. I have no idea what to do but eager to learn. I went today to a friend of my brother and he was going to hack my Xbox 360 so I could play all versions and copies of Xbox 360 games but for some reason he couldnt do it. He said that the dvd rom was from Hitachi or samsung and that the console was bought last year on july and that those units were changed, so he needed a new chip. But well, I need info on how to start from scratch, can anyone guide me to where to go? I will really appreciated. thanks in advance

I think what he means (the guy who was going to do the hacking) was your drive was a Hitachi 78 and he was a n00b because he needed to fit a chip as apposed to a software flash XD

I do NOT give support by email, PM, ICQ or whatever. Anyone annoying me that way will have his balls removed. With a rusty butterknife. Slowly. And I'll enjoy doing it.

Very true, I don't consider myself a hacker but I am very good with computers and reading instructions.
It all started with the original xbox , I bought a premodded console and then decided I wanted another one, but the cost of a premod was huge in those days compared to an unmodded one.
So I started reading on xbox scene , worked out I needed a copy of 007 Agent under fire, slayers and a soldering iron to do the tsop flash. An hour later I was the proud owner of another modded xbox with 120gb hdd and all without having to ask anyone for help.
With the 360 i just read these forums and xbox-scene, worked out what files i needed for my samsung drive as I had a modded xbox, I already knew where to get the files.
Having no experience of hex editors I decided to use an auto-flasher.
Having heard mixed results with auto-flashers I backed up my original firmware with the mtkflash r /sata orig.bin command then put the bootable usb key into my laptop and copied it to a safe place.
I then used an auto flasher which made the 360 not recognise originals or backups. Having read on the forums that this meant I had an invalid drive key, i was not worried as I knew that I had a valid backup.
I then nervously hex edited the key into the extreme firmware using one of the old guides that were about at the time and re-flashed.
All worked beautifully , and all without asking a single question to anyone.
Do not expect people to hand you stuff on a plate - the answers and guides are all on the forums somewhere, you just need to read.
If you are too lazy to read and ask idiotic newbie questions , people will get upset because the forums are filling up with these questions on a daily basis which have all been answered dozens of times before.
If you want someone to hold your hand through the whole process, then it is likely that you are not the sort of person that should be attempting to flash your drive.
Maybe there should be a sticky on the top of the page of all xbox360 subsections titled xbox360 flashing Guide - read first before posting questions.
This would have a link to the excellent 360 flashing guides and hopefully cut down on the newbie posts.
Just an idea.
