XBOX 360 STOPPED WORKING

I've always made sure I knew what I was doing with my xbox when I hacked it.  Everything has gone smoothly ever since i bought it last July.  I upgraded to 5.2 about 3 weeks ago, and she ran beautifully. 

Today I was playing NHL 07 with my buddy (connected to live), when all of a sudden I got the dirty disk error, and booted to dashboard.  I took the disk out, cleaned it with my shirt, and put it back in, but all it said was "Reading..........Open Tray",  then I put a DVD movie in, and it did the same. 

Frustrated with the xbox, I took it apart and tried to reflash it to orig.bin.  However, when i select "Primary Master" with MTKFLASH, it freezes, an issue which has never come up. 

At first I thought this problem was due to a faulty lazer, but the fact that I cannot flash the drive, leads me to expect otherwise. 

Could M$ have done something to me?  It doesn't make sense why my baby would stop working, unless I overheated the DVD-Drive, it was pretty hot... but I was only playing it for an hour at most, I've definitly put more time into it before....

Anyone else having troubles?

how many f***ing times does it have to be said that you can only reflash using the 0800 disk or vcc trick?
