The Burger King games come on dual-layer DVDs.  If backups are burned as single-layer images (with the security sector at the location of an XBox1 game), the backups boot correctly on the latest Samsung firmware.  However, the backup does not boot on a Hitachi drive.

Anyone have any insight into why this works/doesn't work?

Appears to me the Burger King promotional games don't have the additional checks that commercial games use to verify both layers are correct.  Also, appears the Hitachi drive only expects to find the security sector at the location of a 360 game and/or C4E's single layer-enabled firmware is doing extra work to report the single layer 360 game correctly.

cause the games are both xbox 1 and xbox 360 compatible and you are most likely playing the xbox 1 game that way.

I considered that... but I'm 100% confident the 360 version of the game has loaded.  (The white XBox logo screen doesn't display, the game uses effects only found on the 360, etc.)

Bump... cause I'm still curious how this works.

Because the physical disk/security format is xb1 and that format seems to have less validation/verification checks.

Either way, I guess no one was paying attention, but the Xtreme 5.2 firmwares support single layer 360 backups, there just isn't any software out there to let you do it all in a couple of clicks yet.

I don't think it works properly yet.  Might be a work in progress or I dont know what to so but, I can't verify it's working.

I can't personally verify that it's working but I'll take C4E's word for it, that to at least some degree single-layer 360 backups are working.

Quote
(V5.1)   Single Layer DVD disc support(+/-RW) for both Xbox1 and 360
(V5.0)   Single Layer DVD disc support(+/-R) for both Xbox1 and 360
(v5.0)   360 file ISO support (Work in progress. New QWIX tool to come)

Correct me if I'm wrong but when you write a RAW dump or an ISO dump to discs, both discs in the end sould be identical. The support should be there and working, the tools to do it with are a work in progress, and last time I went into the QWIX channel in their IRC server they wouldn't give me a rough estimate even of when the new version is going to be out. Hopefully this will happen soon so I don't have to spend all this money to every game that I've already spent money on to backup. Does anyone know if there are any other tools out there right now that will make ISO backups of 360 games?
