i have a SH-D162C Flashed with kreon v0.81.
and i am using Backup Creator v2.3

When i am trying to back up my copy of Star Trek Legacy i get the message:

"Unable To Determine The Current Visible Partition"

disk is clean and new, i have not had any probs with ANY other games and have backed up about 20 now.

Have tried to use Schtrom360XtractV3.1 and this tells me:

"No Valid Xbox Disk In Drive"

Also disk is showing up in the dvd drive as:

"XGD2DVD_NTSC" not the standard xbox360 name.

This is not an import game either as the original works fine in my console.

Any ideas any1, any help would be much appreciated as this is realy doing my nut right in. Huh

Ok after speaking to Redline99 neither of us could work out why this was happening but will let me know if he comes across an answer.
Well i have managed to backup the game anyway but i had to use the old method of using:

DVDINFOPRO
ISOBUSTER
ISOBUILDER

Game works fine.

Hope this helps anyone else who may come across this problem.

Want to see if anyone else had the problem and how they solved it.

Obviously it's not a copyprotection  if you can backup the games with DVDinfoPro and ISOBuster.

well i tried using the SH-D162C Flashed with kreon v0.81.
and i am using xbox Backup Creator v2.3 and it did eacatly as the other guys did to the point , but when i tried using the swap method i can copy it as long as i change the 3rd number file to a D REPLACING THE C
so thats my problem so yes its the game guys so we have new protection out hu..
also one thing i like to add , if i ever use the swap method they play perfect but at some point in the game they freeze , if i use the SH-D162C using xbox
Backup Creator v2.3 they work perfect every time maybe it s coz i replace the 3rd C with a D , but thats the only way to make it read it will just give an error so any one heard this also  please let me know lets everyone compare ok..

to be honest i have never used the wxripper method, so couldnt really comment.

i thought it may have been just simply due to the fact that the disk is labeled different.
never seen any other game labeled this way.
Hence why the 2 programs dont see it as a valid 360 game, but i have no proof and i dont really know how the programs were written, so that they can determine what is and whats not a 360 disk in the drive.
Maybe some one who reads this can would be able to clear this point up.

So you can still extract SS PFI and DMI from the disk with the SH-D162C? just have to rip with isobuseter?
Is this the only game so far that has done this?

Star Trek Legacy is an oddball. The video partition is 5,578,752 bytes instead of the normal 7,206,912 bytes.  I'll be looking at a work around soon.

I am sure the problem is the use of hardcoded extraction ranges.
The real PFI should be used to set extraction ranges for video, and the alternate PFI in the SS to set the extraction ranges for game data.
Isobuster copies everything, that's why it works.

Tiros - The app does use the PFI for (well it uses the return of READ CAPACITY Op-Code 0x25) The app can in fact read and create a "proper" iso.  The problem is before the application starts reading it uses the capacity size to determine what partition is currently visible. That is why everyone sees the error "Unable to determine the current visible partition". I want to know this so that I know if the disk is xb1 or xb360 or if the disk has already been unlocked, etc...

Here are a couple ways to fix the issue.

I could just put in a quick 2 minute patch to also recognize Start Trek Legacy and hope I don't encounter more oddballs.

I could also defer the determination of the dvd version until after I have read the SS. And to determine the video vs. game partition is easy with a quick file scan.  This fix would take a little longer and need some testing to to make sure I dont break anything.

Do you know of a way to determine the dvd version without reading the SS?

Same problem here.

AnyDVD is installed but disable for the SH-D162

Call of Duty 3
D162 drive with Kreon 0.81
XBC 2.3 Build 0185
Error: "Unable To Determine The Current Visible Partition"

Hmm... Its reporting the drive size as 4.0 TB (TeraBytes) - thats a very big size for a DVD

No problems in past with ripping games

I dont think this is a problem XBC, i say this because i have backed this game up with no problems at all.
i would look at what programs you may have running in the background!
